I'm going on a reading adventure. I just finished up with Shadows of the Apt series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. As I started thinking about what to read next, I thought I might go back and finish series that I never completed. I try to only read book series whose story is concluded. But occasionally I can't resist like Dungeon Crawler Carl. But I'm so bad at waiting.

So thought this might be a good use case for my local AI. I downloaded by reading history from #BookWyrm and asked it to find all the series that had concluded, but I never finished. And it worked great.

So now I get to go back and jump into old worlds that I used to explore. Its going to be so much to visit old friends, old stories. Squee! First up, #Mistborn!

Oh la la c’est bien #Mistborn, mon seul problème c’est qu’il n’y a qu’un seul personnage féminin, même au tome 2, ça fait pas beaucoup 😐

Finished Well of Ascension.

I wish I enjoyed it as much as Mistborn but it felt quite slow paced, and the first half of the book had some issues I found frustrating. However, the second half of the book more than makes up for it and I did eventually enjoy WoA (but not as much as Mistborn)

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn 2, 2007)

Sanderson sigue sandersionando. Tengo la sensación de que es un poco como Naruto o Bleach, tiene muchísimo relleno donde no avanza la trama pero los momentos buenos molan tanto que los perdonas. No es un slow burn, no es un crescendo, es un estancamiento general de la trama durante capítulos y capítulos centrales.

Aparte de eso, pues mola, la alomancia mola, los personajes molan, el principio y el final del libro son la leche, es sólo que siento que hay un libro mejor dentro de este libro si se pudiera condensar todo el barullo central en menos páginas.

Mistborn: The Final Empire

Finished Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy. Thoughts:

- The magic system is detailed, consistent, and interesting.
- The ending is satisfactory. Often in fantasy the ending seems to come out of nowhere, like a mystery where the detective had clues the reader wasn't shown. The revelations make sense here.
- In this day and age, it's very weird to have only one female major character (even if she is the protagonist).
