Skończyłem Diabły od Pana J. Abercrombie. I to chyba jedna z najbardziej nierównych książek jakie czytałem. W swoich lepszych momentach była naprawdę genialna, w gorszych, ledwo się dało czytać. Miałem momenty że chłonąłem dziesiątki stron bez mrugnięcia okiem by rozdział później zmuszać się do skończenia jednej. Na plus na pewno akcja. Opisy walk, pojedynków, dynamizm starć itd wszystko świetnie poprowadzone. Do tego same sceny, tworzenie sytuacji dla bohaterów itd. bardzo dobre. Trochę momentami zajezdzalo komiksami i anime, w kwestii rozstawienia pionków po planszy i kolejnych, przeplatanych opisów zmagań. Sami bohaterowie też spoko, prości ale dający się lubić. Brakowało mi jednak jakichś głębszych rysopisów i relacji między nimi, tak że nawet jak później ktoś ważny ginął to w ogóle nie robiło to na mnie wrażenia. Skoro już jesteśmy przy minusach to na pewno humor. Nie wiem czy miało być rubasznie czy mroczno ale wyszło co najwyżej żenująco. Dwie strony o tym jak bohaterce „cipa śmierdzi”, tarzanie w odchodach po seksie itd. W taki poziom często pan Joe wchodzi i jedyne co odczuwałem przy czytaniu to zażenowanie. Gdyby to było w całości dark/heroic fantasy to wyszłoby spoko, ale przez ten edgy humor dużo utracono. Jest też sporo dłużyzn, masa bezsensownego kręcenia się w kółko wokół przemyslen postaci, które i tak nie mają jakiegoś większego znaczenia. Generalnie znośnie się czytało, mimo że momentami było ciężko. Po kolejne części raczej nie będę sięgał.

Hace dos días finalicé "Antes de que los cuelguen", el segundo libro de la trilogía "La primera ley" de Joe Abercronbie.
Tengo que decir que, antes de meterme con el amigo Joe, hacía muchísimo tiempo que no leía nada de fantasía. Me gusta el género, pero me satura con cierta facilidad, sobre todo si plantean cosas demasiado arquetípicas.
El primero volumen de la trilogía me pareció ameno, bien escrito, con personajes interesantes, pero una historia y un mundo sin nada especialmente sorprendente.
Cuando se lo comenté a las personas que me lo habían recomendado me dijeron que era cierto, pero que eso cambiaba. Y parece que tenían razón. Esta segunda novela sí que me ha hecho olvidarme de que estoy leyendo el enésimo mundo de fantasía medieval, y me ha metido en la historia totalmente. Me siguen gustando los personajes y me quedo con ganas de saber dónde acaba todo.
No tiene un Geralt o una Ciri que te enamoren y con los que irías al fin del mundo, no se te mete en el alma como las historias de Terramar, no vives en una continuo estrés mental por saber si tu personaje adorado morirá en algún momento, como con Martin, pero te tiene todo el tiempo son una sonrisita en la cara, pidiéndote continuar.
Ni tal mal.

Fa uns dies vaig acabar la darrera novel·la "Last Argument of Kings". Arribem al desenllaç, típic i tòpic, sense cap mena de sorpresa final que no es veiés a venir i amb MOLTA palla per omplir pàgines i pàgines i fer que el llibre te'l pogués cobrar més car l'editorial.
El millor els personatges, com a tots els anteriors però el final de la trama fa dubtar que valgui la pena TANTA palla. -
