Who made women believe that selling their body, dressing provocatively and exposing their sexuality online was empowering or liberating ?
Was it the same people who make % of their sales or was it the same people who make $$$ because they have women dancing half naked on their platforms, for free, that attract half the audience and views ?
Or maybe, it was the same industry that uses human sexuality for DECADES as a legitimate marketing strategy ?
Or maybe, it derives from the same roots as majority of modern world corruption came from ?
Freud was a psychologist who introduced psychology into spheres of marketing and governance around 1920. He sold the idea that all humans have primal feelings and desires which they unconsciously act upon. Sexuality was used as a major way to exert influence over people, and especially in marketing strategies and ads.
That same technique was used in late 1920 to convince women to smoke cigarettes. Before it was seen as something manly, and in focus groups women expressed it was a symbol of a penis.
Marketing used this later to sell to women the idea that cigarettes can make a woman look powerful and independent.Aren't we repeating the same story over and over again ?
Let's not forget that behind all ideals the media and industry tries to sell us, we are still gullible beings, that are extremely easy to manipulate.
Let's stop prostituting ourselves online for the sake of big corporations and platforms that are damaging to our health to begin with.
This post is not inspired by any negative connotations to women or sexuality in any way, form or being.
It comes from the fact, that as a society we forget how huge of a role in our life porn industry and hyper sexualization plays, in culture and relationships.
Most importantly, the more we continue engaging in those influences, the more we are co-responsible for the effect it has on society, human relationships, gender roles and human sexuality.
As a collective it's us who are responsible for stopping the cycle of disease that hypersexuality and porn industry has brought into our world, in the name of money and greed.The more we engage and continue this trend and exploitation alive, the more women will feel objectified, the more men will objectify women, the less connecting relationships will become, the more women will look like porn, the more porn and addiction we will see in our culture, daily interaction, media, art, and so on.
Once you see it, You cannot unsee it. How many times have you went to cinema and saw an explicit sex scene ? How many times as a woman you feel like you need to compare yourself with women who expose their body and dress provocatively ? As a man, how many times have you objectified a woman in media or while having an intercourse ? In how many mainstream music videos there's no nudity or vulgar mentions of sexual nature ? As men and women, how many times have you played out porn scenes in the bedroom ?
Let's not forget that no matter how comfortable we have became as people with hyper sexualization, it is not normal, porn is not equilivant of sex, it is meant to be addictive, and IT DOES have multitude of negative social consequences globally.
We can complain endlessly about the state of modern relationships, the way men act, the way women act, the way we treat each other. We can blame external entities.
But truth of the matter is that we all, as men, as women, are continuing and co-creating this damage as long as we let the damaging influences affect us, and get lured by their damaging ideals, and thus making them richer and more powerful.Below a small part of modern pornified industries examples. A remainder: we are all part of it, we were all brainwashed, and we need to all learn to de-normalize it. There is a chance You have previously seen or been engaged in those industries, which doesn't mean they are normal.
