Did you know?
To offer limited compatibility with #PC88 #PC8801, the #MSX 2 9938 VDP has GRAPHIC 6 mode - a double-high, bitmapped pixel mode of slightly lower resolution (512x192 or 512x212).
By writing data to memory address above the visible portion of the screen, you can make use of an off-screen VRAM buffer just like SR mode!
Games like Burai made use of this mode to match their PC ports.
