    The first version of their #MetalAPI was available to #iOS developers nine months before and shipped with #IOS8 six months before #Vulkan was even announced.

    #OpenGL 4.1 on #macOS and #OpenGLES 3.0 on iOS and #iPadOS are still available but were deprecated in favor of #Metal five years ago.

    I think it’s less a matter of keeping up and more about not wanting to wait.
