  1. Kayaking this afternoon. So lucky to spend a good amount of time observing 2 Bald Eagles and then, upon returning, to see 2 different pairs of Loons. #Maine #wildlife #getoutdoors #kayak #eagles #loons #NotABirder

  2. Wow, the local red-tailed hawk has been so Vocal the past 2 days. And, while cycling this afternoon, there were no fewer than a dozen hawks circling and calling. Moving prep??? #Hawks #birds #NotABirder

  3. The cardinals coming to our feeder are all molting. The females remain on the ground and are the color of the sparrows. The males are showing some blue color under the back of the wings - very surprised by this. All look ragged and frazzled as if they just pulled an all-nighter. #birds #molting #cardinals #NotABirder

  4. #morningWalk #merlins in Lowertown neighbourhood - I am guessing a young one was gleefully flying out, screeching β€œwheeeeee” as it would go for a circle of flight and come back to the tree… #notABirder

  5. The Blue Jay hop....on, off, on, out with seed in the gulag. Usually, there are multiple hops back and forth. Some learn that a soft landing works better than jumping. Of course, they'd rather feed up on the platform. #BlueJay #BirdFeeder #NotABirder

  6. Red-winged blackbirds have begun migrating thru. They'll be here in the #Boston burb for about 2 weeks before moving on to marshes and ponds further north, like The Great Meadows, #Concord. #birds #Migration #NotABirder

  7. Just one quick chance to photo this beautiful hunter, so sorry for the lack of a great image. This hawk has been a regular around our bird feeder, and is not shy about sitting closer to the house. Since I'm #NotABirder, I cannot tell if this is a sharp-shinned or cooper's hawk. #hawk #predator #bird

  8. Tuesday #Workout:
    200 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
    20 minutes of strength training
20 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
    26 KM of #Cycling (-1Β°C, -5Β°C Windchill, 61% humidity, and 13 km/hr wind)

The strength and HIIT workouts felt hard today.

It was a chilly ride (especially on #TeamShorts), and I got to see something amazing - a young squirrel get caught by a raptor of some sort (#NotABirder) and taken away. Will have to see if the bike camera caught it.

  9. On today's hike up South Mtn in Pawtuckaway park, NH, it was melting hot with refreshing breezes. Forest was full of song birds: red-eyed vireo, pine warbler, ovenbird, and my fav, hermit thrush. Atop, there was a broadwing hawk, a dozen vultures, butterflies, hummingbirds, and dragon flies. All got away, but there is a dragonfly in the photo. #hiking #getoutside #NH #birds #NotABirder

  10. Hello #Birders - last winter I put up a box meant for robins and was disappointed it went unused thru the spring and summer. However, late summer, after the honeysuckle partially covered the box, a pair of Carolina Wrens raised a family there. Do I need to clean the nesting material or just leave as is? #NotABirder.

  11. A mostly #silentsunday at #greatmeadows with only the calls of geese, red-winged blackbirds, swans, mallards, wood ducks, goldeneyes, chickadee, song sparrows. The beaver lodge has been there for ages. There used to be lots of muskrat push-ups, but they have disappeared over the last 2 years. #getoutside #getoutdoors #notabirder
