A cute lady #beetle for #insektenSamstag !
It's a genus I had not seen/known before, Henosepilachna. Species in this genus are phytophagous, unlike the most commonly seen lady beetles. I think they're also a bit cuter.

The Saga of Syd Squirrel 7/8
Poor Syd, having no idea that eviction day had arrived, started Saturday morning by bringing in another light and checking out the locals i.e. me. The PD tracked Syd's movements during the morning but by midday, we were ready for the eviction. I went out and Syd, possibly understanding the human with work gloves and bin liner wasn't a good sign, scarpered down the wall to the floor below.

Wednesday night after work I noticed that one planter had been tipped on its side and there was more fake plant sticking out from under another one. This was the point I realised what was happening. The plot for Syd 2: The Revenge was revealing itself to me. The wee bugger was building a nest under my planter. The local PD turned up but couldn't find anyone home.

Three years ago, I was invaded by Syd the squirrel and it's pals for about a month and half. They ate every spring bulb and killed most of the rest of everything else by digging up the planters. The cats and I had a love/hate relationship with them cos they were fun to watch but did make going outside more dangerous as the cats 100% would go over the railing to chase them #cityWildlife #squirrelsOfMastodon

We are done with the #insects workshops until spring, so it's time to release the butterflies!
Adults were released on the last day, with the kids, but I have a bunch of pupae left. I spread them in the park next door and hopefully they will hatch soon!
