There is injustice and even absurdity of the unprogressive repetitive life happening in front of our eyes...

We might be getting what we want (free stuff), but not actually what we need (real *morality* / ethical progress / ethical power and considerations simply as *human* beings from system level or social sites where we all right wanting attention!!!).

So this song might not be a song about meaningless work or meaninglessness repetitive work symbolizing capitalism as the cause in the 80's or even times now... !

The song could also just be some mixed lyrics of a worker talking about his work and narrator talking about playing a guitar all mixed together almost randomly!

Being more valued, instead of the money part (just moving refrigerators) seems right or simply not just this kind of conveyor belt work everywhere,

Even some "finding in our place in life" I think that's what we want.

So that's "all we want" ...which turns out to be all of us needing and *demanding everything* from life! And why not if we play it for each other and therefore ourselves too! Instead of the near-0 that Capitalism cuts out knowingly as #efficient.

Not even the chicks free would work for us (which is what I mean about free servers and no participation anywhere on Fediverse - it's not enough to not lead or give people practicalised work or philosophy more than the philanthropy of getting stuff for free)!

The Choice We Face

“Money for Nothing” is a kind of false-dream of every generation passed onto the next.
A society knowing there is two ways to get something, The first way is theft on a national scale or extraction of goods and services from neighboring lands through warfare (i.e., pillaging and enslavement). The second way is living with less and maybe less war because there is less demand
which our exchange for less gives us time for investing in values and people which permits "innovation" to flourish of a mental kind.

For 99.9 percent of human existence, we have chosen extraction. Slavery of sorts.

More recently, commerce has more diversity in slavery so it's perhaps not much better.

I think we can all agree that overly sticking to capitalism is an exchange too far for humanity and short-changing natural that only comes back to pollute ourselves mentally and physically (toxics and extreme energy waste for little gain / small tasks). So it's s better to do things the old way more than “money for nothing (to banks) and your chicks (frills or debt based life) for free.”
