  1. In other news, my latest pixel macrame is done, aside from putting on a backing; my mother decided to try to auction it off at the family reunion so I've been busy trying to finish it. I have no need or desire to keep it as I'm not Christian, I just wanted a moderate-difficulty pattern to practice & found this on a macrame artist I follow online though I changed the colors. I figure nobody will bid anyway; my history of creative endeavors is full of people saying, "Oh, you're talented," yet when I offer to let them read my writing or to make them something they always decline. So...I figure I'm not *that* talented.

Anyway. I believe I'm going to do the exact same pattern a second time, just with different yarn, as I tried this cheaper yarn wondering if I'd have better luck with knot tension yet I notice no real difference, I just suck at knot tension. #art #craft #macrame

  3. Crocheters!! What might you call this stitch? I'm working on a crochet tray with 2mm macramé cord & currently doing the border | side of it, which will stand like a basket. To make the standing outer edge, I hooked into the inner loop of each stitch, but I also wanted it sturdy, so I grabbed a loop below the inner one as well & completed my double crochet {treble crochet in UK terms}. :blobthanks: Many thank yous in advance!!

<<Will put macramé cord details in the comments a little later if anyone wants them 🧶 🩵>>

  5. Got some beads yesterday so I could try out making a micro #macrame bracelet. Only had the usual embroidery floss to work with, but that worked out okay I think.

  6. At last is finished. Not my pattern, I found it in the user-submitted area of an Instagram I follow (Simply Inspired/Sheena Joy). I just wanted a medium-difficulty pattern with few colors to practice my knot tension.

I haven't any idea what to do with it now, though. I have no use of it, nowhere to show it or anything. I wish I had someone appreciative to give it to. 😕

Alas, I wanted to start work on another practice piece before doing my own design, but my mother lost my big roll of macrame cord...had to buy more. $50 down the drain. Sigh. #craft #macrame

  8. Another #macrame wristlet. I really like how this looks, but in hindsight I shouldn't have made it with braided cord as it was a bit of a hassle to get the right tension on the knots because of the stretchiness.

Apparently it is called a Chinese crown knot and the tutorial I followed was this one -

  9. Made a couple of #macrame wristlets with variations of knots and colors to try out a few things. Quick and easy way to get finished results that are actually useful. Have already attached the blue one to my DSLR.

  11. I am working on this #macrame #dreamcatcher and I am happy with the result within the hoop, but I struggle a bit with how to finish the bottom. I think I will add some more blue cords to fit with the ones in the middle, but I am unsure which kind of knots and pattern will fit the overall look.

  12. Finished my #macramé #dreamcatcher

I used a #3dprinted ring so I had to cover it completely with cord, which brought on a few challenges with hiding string ends. I also cut a few of the cords a bit too short so I had to get a little creative with the finishing knots.

The design is based on this YouTube video - youtu.be/tsx2F6vkH8g

  13. A work in progress for #WIPWednesday

I am still working on a friendship bracelet (or two), but I also decided to try my hands on a #macramé #dreamcatcher.

It is almost finished, except for the last work on the hanging ends. I am pretty happy with the result although I did have to hide a couple of strings I hadn't cut quite long enough.

  14. Had to take a break from friendship bracelets to try out this #macramé wreath I came across in a YouTube tutorial. Surprisingly nice looking result from a very simple technique.

  15. For me one of the joys of picking up plenty of new hobbies and crafts is when I get to combine two or more of them.

Getting into #embroidery and #macramé was the perfect opportunity to design and #3dprint some bobbins for the threads/floss.

I went for making them sturdy (3mm thick) which also made it possible to get rounded edges to avoid damaging the thread.

  17. Finished my #macramé rainbow #lgbt bracelet. Hadn't really thought through the fact, that both ends should have enough lose string to make some sort of closing mechanism, so this will probably just end up tied to one of the zippers on my back pack. Perfect excuse to make another one I guess.

I wonder if there is a way to get a pattern like the LGBT+ ally flag.

  19. The cat went to sleep and I managed to get a bit further along with my rainbow #macramé bracelet. I am still a newb, but I think it is coming along nicely.

  21. Doing #macramé with a playful cat in the room is an uphill battle.
