If your doctor gives you a blood work requisition labeled #Lifelabs, just take it to the hospital.
That is a super easy way to boycott America, and private for-profit Healthcare.
And health authority should be promoting the existence of their outpatient labs all the time, but I think they don't because they don't want to be seen as competing with the private labs. And not just Lifelabs, the other ones too.

But the best part is knowing that absolutely no security lessons were learned:

If you're a Canadian there's a good chance you were affected by the LifeLabs breach.
It's kinda sad that our courts think your health information is only worth about $50, but might as well at least take the token amount of money they were forced to pay. Especially after they went to court to muzzle the privacy commissioner.

I booked an appt over 2weeks ago for some blood work at #Lifelabs that I need for an upcoming specialist appointment, I had to fast at least 10 hours for this blood work to be done. I just now woke up to get ready to go and I have an email telling me that my appointment has been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances" when I check the site, the location is closed for the day. It's hard to get a first thing in the morning appt at that place. I'm pissed. Maybe they should be #masking.

One of Canada's largest medical diagnostics lab providers has reached a proposed class action settlement of C$4.9 million for the hack that it suffered back in 2019. In 2019, cybercriminals broke into LifeLabs' network & stole personal data, affecting up to 15 million Canadians.
In its proposed class action settlement, the company stated that:Any Canadian resident who was a LifeLabs customer on or before Dec. 17, 2019 – the day the company announced it had been the target of a data breach – and whose personal information, including lab results, was accessed could receive a cash payment as part of the proposed settlement.
Each claimant in the proposed settlement can receive between $50-150 depending on their claim.
It is important to note that the proposed settlement has not yet been approved by the courts, but affected individuals have "the option of participating in the settlement, staying in the class action and objecting to the settlement, or opting out."

Please check #LifeLabs locations specific info for the clinic you're trying to get walk-in services from BEFORE going there. Only a few specific locations have walk-in services. The rest are by appointments only. Checking ahead will save you time/frustration & also help lower wait times for folks(like me & my Mom) who have regularly scheduled appointments.
Their website has information on which ones offer walk-in services.
