    Daily writing prompt What’s a song that always puts you in a good mood? View all responses

    Gosh, there are so many songs, how do I pick just one? Music of any type generally puts me in a better mood so I’d have to pick the genre first and then the song, but this isn’t a morning to overthink so I’ll share a song that I heard yesterday that’s been in my head since. Before the Jackson 5 were The Five Stairsteps.

    2026 isn’t so much better, or safer, here in the US than it was in 1970 when this song was released. The lyrics might not have been true then and they might not be true now, and they might never be true for all I know, but they sure sound good, and they feel good coming out of one’s mouth singing them.
