Since Calagator was first created circa 2009, it and Kolagator have maintained jQuery as a dependancy.

It's 2026 and probably well time to move on from jQuery.. but to what? We dont need much javascript and these days there are options for full frameworks as well as very light weight approaches.

New discussion to consider where we might go if we attempted to deprecate jQuery from the project.

I remember when it was 2013 and remade the page of TodoJuegos, a small videogame store using Bootstrap 2.

13 years later, and still does look modern and functional.

Never got an answer for the store, I believe.

I made a Markdown editor for my blog. Using semantic HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. The only library's I'm using is jQuery v4 and jQuery UI v1.14.

Potevo probabilmente sgraffignare codice #frontend di altro tipo per lo stesso scopo (anche se con una #UI un po’ diversa, ad esempio di vari #software del Fediverso), ma ho preferito questo di #Telegram perché non usa framework astrusi come React, solo #jQuery e quindi a farci #hacking si fa subito subito. ⚒️

@nblr Diesbezüglich hat sich im letzten Jahrzehnt offenbar generell viel weiterentwickelt. #JavaScript kann jetzt nativ viel wofür du vorher #jQuery brauchtest. und #HTML5 ist sowieso einfach nur ZUCKER, wenn du vorher nur #HTML4 kanntest :)

Having been in webdevelopment for about 20 years now (yikes!) using stuff like #MooTools, #jQuery, #Knockoutjs, #Backbonejs, #Marionettejs and #React sort of fixed the issue of making webapps interactive/reactive. It always felt cumbersome though as it required a lot of different stuff to make it possible. And now we suddenly had to manage state, validation etc. on the client side as well. More work.

But, I think I found the solution to this problem. One that reminds me of the good old days...
