@danielramfer Sí, quise probarlo hace un tiempo para ver qué ta la iba ya que tenía #Plex también. Me gustan ambos pero creo que las apps de #Infuse para #iOS #iPadOS y #macOS son mejores. ¿Ventajas? Pocas, quizás que si me encuentro con un equipo fuera del ecosistema de #Apple podría tirar de #Plex para ver mi contenido, o poder meter la instancia de #Plex de otra persona, pero más allá de eso yo no he encontrado ninguna

En la Playa 2ªResidencia tengo un Proyector con un TV4K conectado a él y Tailscale activada
Reproduzco siempre desde un Emby que tengo en mi 1ªResidencia
Reproduzco desde App #Infuse en el TV pero ya me ha pasado varias veces que al reproducir desde ahí solo algunas películas a los pocos segundos me tira toda la Red Wifi y se reinicia.
Si lo hago desde la App #Emby NO falla
Tengo un EdgeRouter y un APU6LR
Alguna idea que puede ser? 🤔

@caseyliss I don't really like #Jellyfin - mostly cos it can't use the #Plex api to pull out my playlists and recreate them...something that I as a programmer would think would be easy.

I adore #Infuse cos of video and audio quality. But Plex - as it currently is - is really beginning to lose focus on what made it great! So I have to look elsewhere.

Great, now Infuse and Jellyfin are arguing which is resulting in Infuse no longer getting updated from the Jellyfin library. I'm pretty sure it's from the update to Jellyfin 10.11.2...unfortunately I don't think there's a ton that can be done on my side except wait for an update to fix things.

What is the reason to pay for and use #Infuse player on #iOS if you already have a #Plex or #Jellyfin setup? It seems like a lot of duplication including costs. And if you don't have Plex or Jellyfin on a NAS or server, why not use just install that? Infuse seems best for connecting to cloud storage services rather than local it seems.

If I have one complaint about the Jellyfin ecosystem, it's specifically with the Infuse client. It does a great job, but there is no way to have it accept "self-signed" certificates. I run a local CA and all of my internal servers have certs carved off of it. Unfortunately, Infuse will not connect to the Jellyfin server because of it which kinda sucks. Very annoying...

Okay, y'all, Anyone else have issues playing 4k videos on #Infuse for #AppleTV 4k? Some of the things I'm experiencing: press pause and it pauses. BUT then press pause or scrub and it freezes! 2 min later it shows the interface and allows you to continue. This is not on a BRAND NEW AppleTV 4k. This is the 1-gen-back AppleTV 4k w/ethernet. Plex says it's sending 400MB/s+ in bursts, so it's not NOT getting data. Seems like it's not great at caching and scrubbing. I've an @infuse pro subscription.

If you're thinking of a home media server, I'm finding the combination of #jellyfin on a server or NAS, with #infuse as the front end on an AppleTV to be a really nice combination.

@amarzar @jsanchez0x @mariordriguez @avegalf @tailscale Con sinceridad no lo he usado mucho como Nodo de salida porque tengo como Nodo ppal una Pi4 8Gb, el Tv lo tengo como Nodo secundario por si se cae la Pi y va de lujo, el uso principal de ese Tv es conectarse por VPN al Emby que tengo en casa a través de #Infuse y se lo traga Todo todo aunque no he podido probar 4K en la tele porque no lo es pero en el IPad M2 va perfecto

Nachdem #Synology die eigene #Video #App mit dem #Update auf #DSM 7.2.2 EOL gestellt hat bzw. einfach gekillt habe ich als erste Alternative das freie #jellyfin getestet und bin begeistert. 😃 📽️

Occasionally I think about the #AppleTV 128gb unit I have gathering dust on a shelf. I think about all the fanboys who love the damn thing and gush over it constantly on Reddit and elsewhere.

Then I think about how you can't load #Kodi on it (#Infuse isn't free, you have to subscribe or else pay almost $100 for a lifetime fee, and it's nowhere near as customizable as Kodi), and how it doesn't support liveTV at all (like #YouTubeTV) and I just keep walking. What a colossal waste of money it was.

Man I love #Kodi. Something as simple as the backup/restore plugin allows you to instantly configure a new instance (on a smart TV or #Firestick) with your entire config, shared folders, addins etc. And it’s the best media interface I’ve ever used - significantly better than #Infuse on iOS/TVOS, not to mention *completely free*. You can even install #Plex within it, and it’s Plex implementation is actually better than standalone Plex; which itself is ten times better than #Jellyfin.

@macrumors While it is nice that macOS offer this feature, I think the most interesting question is “Will tvOS support the feature as well”? #infuse 👀

One thing I’ve been noticing on tvOS 18 is there seems to be some new audio processing going on. My Atmos enabled soundbar seems to sound way more dynamic with a lot of content I watch now. Some of it is a little jarring and unexpected. But I’m not exactly put off by it.

Sadly it doesn’t work with TrueHD Atmos content, still. But I’m not sure if this is the fault of Infuse’s handling of these streams to make them work at all. Not to say Infuse is doing anything bad.

I’d be curious if Infuse is playing with tvOS 18 yet. I’d be surprised if they weren’t. Maybe they’re cooking something there. Maybe nothing changes, though. We’ll see.

For a few weeks now, I've been using VidHub as a video player on my iPad and MacBook.

I was actually looking for an alternative to Infuse; I thought its yearly subscription was unnecessarily expensive. While browsing, I came across this app:

It's a very nice player that supports gestures and more on tablets. Plus, I think it uses MPV in the background, which makes it very fast.

Infuse (tvOS app I use to access Jellyfin) has an update note for Atmos support. So far as I know, DD+ Atmos has been there for years, but Apple didn’t allow TrueHD Atmos. As far as I can see, Apple hasn’t changed this. None of my TrueHD Atmos content is working correctly, still.

So I’m grabbing the tvOS 17.5 beta to see if something happened there.

I really want Atmos to work, damn it.

I’ve had a lifetime sub to Plex for almost ten years and have had no real problems with it other than some 4K files not running perfectly on AppleTV 4K. I’ve seen many write positive things about infuse so I’ve finally subbed to it for a year and gave it a try.
