Android TV pro mě není jednoduše proto, že to je další uzavřený crap, který nebude mít security podporu. Počítám, že tam některý věci budou jednodušší, ale naštěstí nevím, že mi chybí :)

Welp, last night got close on the 3dprinting parts of project, today for sure then to programming.

Also got #Jellyfin media server going. Not quite as polished as #Emby or #Plex but very serviceable and what it lacks makes up for in FOSS.

Todays plan is get the 3dprinting done and get a hello world programmed for the servos and text to speech today.

Other than that, a bit chilly so nothin but homebody today.

A fond farewell to #Emby

Emby is like #Plex but just your media. Ive been a paying premier user for many years.

A few months ago, smart tvs decided they were gonna report everything you watch and sell it. (or worse)
Yes, yours too.

I decided to take my tvs off the web and created a local only network. My server talks to both local and web.

Now the Emby tv apps dont work even tho they dont need web. And thus my farewell.

Lookin like #Jellyfin install incoming.. was a good run Emby.

Emby – Missing Movies after upgrade 4.9 fix

Okay the Emby Version 4.9 is already considered stable since a couple of months but i didnt update to it. Why? Well a friend of mine did and told me that after the update there were quite some Movies missing i his Database. And thats something i litarilly hate, if something gets worse with an update.

So i waited, because he told me: next time its your turn to test, and rollback if something doesnt work etc.

So i waited till today and made the upgrade. On the firts glance everything looks fine but than i scanned my library, and turned out instead of 6043 Movies, which equals the count of Movie folders Emby returen 6000 Movie items. Fuck!

So Emby recognized the correct count of Folders, but not of Movies. Quick question on the Emby Forum returned: send some logs! Yeah great thanks for nothing.

So i searched myself and have seen that in the filter Settings for you can Filter for Duplicates, which return around 30 Movies which seem to have duplicates. The first was A Nightmare on Elm Street which should have 11 duplicates, no way! And hoestly that was not correct. A dont know how this duplicate detection works on Emby, but most of the time it fails. There were some real duplicates, which i than simply deleted on my NAS. For the false alarms there is a „Split Version“ Button if you scroll down deep enough on the Movies overview page. Now everything ist back to normal.

I have #emby (media server) client installed on my #LG and #Roku TVs. I disconnected the internet but kept them on the same network.

LG says ok.. plays fine

Roku says.. we cant monetize you without internet so screw you. No network. Full Stop.

Update für #Proxmox durchgeführt, für vier VMs und einen Container.
Vorher noch brav für alle VMs ein vollständiges Backup durchgeführt. Eine externe Festplatten eingerichtet und dort zusätzlich ein #Borgbackup für die #Nextcloud Daten erstellt.

So weit so produktiv für einen Sonntag.

Jetzt müsste ich nur noch eine #nfs Freigabe von meinen Clouddaten zu meinen Laptop und von einem Ordner in der Cloud zu meinen #Emby Server.

Dumm nur, dass nfs für mich sowas wie der Endgegner ist.
Habs einmal geschafft.

Yippie es gibt wieder einen neuen Teil der Blogparade diesmal unter dem Motto: Linear oder gestreamt?

Und das passt ganz gut denn ich bin heute auf Dienstreise. Das bedeutet ich habe den seltenen „Genuss“ linearen Fernsehens im Hotel. Genuss bedeutet hier natürlich pure Ironie, denn das was auf den Kanälen der privaten TV Sender der Gruppen RTL und Sat1/Pro7 zu sehen ist kann doch kein halbwegs intelligenter Mensch aushalten. Entweder sind es Sendungen die schon 10.000x wieder aufgewärmt wurden, irgendwelche US pseudo Doku’s, oder komische Spielshows mit Leuten wie Joko und Claas die sich für wirklich witzig halten. Alles nichts was ich sehen muss oder will.

Zum Glück gibt es ja noch arte und Co. da kommt wenigstens oftmals noch was sinnvolles.

Aber diese Programm „Qualität“ ist auch der Grund warum wir den linearen TV Empfang via Satellit vor ca. 2-3 Jahren bei uns abgeschafft haben. Und ich hatte ein recht gutes Setup mit Sat<IP Receiver, TVHeadend und solange die Formel 1 noch bei RTL war habe ich sogar für HD+ bezahlt. Genau ich habe dafür bezahlt Werbung in HD zu sehen. Ganz schön blöd.

Mit der Zeit stellten wir aber fest das keiner von uns mehr regelmäßig lineares Fernsehen konsumierte. Also habe ich probeweise den TV Server abgeschaltet, nachdem sich monatelang keiner beschwert hat wurde das Equipment verkauft.

Unser Fernsehkonsum speist sich heutzutage größtenteils aus dem archivierten Content auf dem Emby Server. Nachrichten, Shows und Dokus kommen aus den Mediatheken von ARD, ZDF, Arte und Red Bull TV. Für die Formel 1 gibt es ein F1 TV App Abo. Früher gab es noch Amrican Football über Joyn, damit ist es aber vorbei seitdem RTL die Rechte daran hält. RTL ist wohl der einzige Medienkonzern der versucht noch das letzte Quäntchen seines Schunds versilbern in harter Währung versilbern zu lassen und kein halbwegs kostenloses Abo anbietet.

Ja es gibt noch lineares Fernsehen bei uns in Form einer von mir kuratierten M3U Playlist mit den Sendern der öffentlich rechtlichen. Aber diese wird nur arg selten benutzt, denn ich bestimme gerne selber was ich gerne sehen möchte, je nach Stimmung etc.

Vermissen tun wir zumindest nix, weswegen lineares TV für uns auch ein Auslaufmodell ist.

And another Emby Notification Plugin. I swear it will be the last one, but when i had a look at the Mastdon Client API i thought that all of the bits and pieces where already there in my other two plugins. I dont even know if that Plugin is useful for anyone.

Okay it took my longer than i thought because on the one hand i didnt know that Mastodon would silently reject statuses with more than 500 Characters, while accepting an empty user-agent while GoToSocial does it vis-a-vis. This 500 Chracter feature was hard to track down because the test notifications always worked.

Nevertheless, here now we have a plugin which uses the Mastodon Client API to post Notifications of your Emby Server to a Mastodon, GotoSocial or any other Server of your choice that implements that API. Now you can inform friends and family about the newest stuff on your Emby Server, or show them what you have watched in the past.

Please keep in mind that especially bigger Instances have rate limits for Bots, so please dont spam around. Or you setup your own instance like a small GoToSocial one, that magnificent piece of software is perfect for that.

I dont know how many Emby users are on the fediverse (i reckon much less than Jellyfin users), but if you are on Emby and you want to mirror your Emby Notifications to the Fediverse, i build a little plugin which can do that.

It uses the Mastodon Client API so it should work with services which use that, like GotoSocial for example. It is very basic, but it does the job.

...dann einfach in der App aufs Profilbild tippen > App Settings > Playback > unter Audio die Remote streaming quality (cellular) von Auto auf einen höheren Wert setzen.

Moin Leute ich brauche mal ein bisschen #fedipower zum Thema Mastodon / Activitypub Bots.
Gibt es eine einheitliche API mit der ich zum Beispiel bei Mastodon, GoToSocial, Misskey etc. Nachrichten / Bilder für einen Bot Account abliefern kann oder kocht da jedes Projekt sein eigenes Süppchen?

Ich habe für Emby ja schon Plugins für Telegram und Matrix geschrieben und würde nun gerne eines für das Fediverse bauen. Aber nur um ein paar Statusmeldungen abzuliefern wäre ein kompletter ActivityPub Client in CSharp wohl overkill (und auch ausserhalb meines Horizonts).

Years ago i wrote a simple Emby Plugin so you can get your Server Notifications piped to a Matrix chat.

A bit ago i updated my Emby Telegram Plugin so it could send postern and i wanted to do the same to the Matrix plugin.

So here it is (better to say on Codeberg), Version 1.2.0.0 which can also send Posters:
