I use a Firestick on my main TV and I’m almost certain Amazon would be using ACR on it. The amount of ads it shows drives me mad as well.

I’m just waiting for Apple to release their next 4K unit and I’ll get rid of the Firestick. No point investing in 4+ year old tech when a new version is just around the corner.

I cannot wait for the updated #PlasmaBigScreen to go public. I am so sick of these "Smart TVs" and spy tools. I've used a mini-PC off and on with Linux on my TV of course with an air-mouse remote, but when guests come to visit it becomes too complicated for them...

I just hope we can save html shortcuts to the carousal wheel for those platforms my normie-guests expect to see (like disney+ & netflix).

Looking for a media player that I can hook to my TV that supports DLNA and popular streaming services (Disney+ for the kids, Dropout for me, Hulu/MAX for Hockey) I currently use fire sticks.. My wife is not a fan of Roku. I would be open to something open source (RaspPi maybe). Would need a remote for sure!
