#Ghostty tip: You can have three evenly sized columns or rows (not just 1/2, 1/4, etc.) if you add this: `keybind = super+e=equalize_splits` and press Cmd+E after splitting. This will space everything evenly

Should I give #Ghostty a chance? I fired it out of curiosity and let's say I am not a fan of the default solarized color theme. Been using #Kitty for years and it gives me all I need (that is not that much, a light, stable, blazing fast terminal with ligature support). I don't need tabs, splits, etc, since my window manager of choice (sway) takes care of those. But maybe there's a Ghostty feature that is awesome and I'm missing?

When I see people complain about Linux it always boils down to the terminal. If that's the "only" hurdle, Linux is in a good place. I mean, life throws far more hurdles at us as soon as we leave home. If we can survive that, we can survive the terminal.

My wife doesn't know this, but all I need to be satisfied is a good keyboard with an awkward layout, a speedy terminal emulator, a sexy font / color scheme and key bindings for everything.

MacOS terminal - including font. Its much better than terminal for window management/splits on your stellar 6K

My Monteverdi platform TUI view uses the tcell go library and it recognizes Ghostty with no problem, but today I discovered that mtr complains it doesn't recognize xterm-ghostty.
I see there's some consternation about Ghostty using its own terminfo and I feel like going ... well sonny, back in my day we had to echo terminfo into the amber 80x20 terminal CRT character by character with a lit match just to get BACKSPACE to work!
Anyway, yelling at cloud gets me nowhere. To get mtr to work I aliased it with an env var:
mtr: aliased to sudo TERM=xterm-256color mtr
But I agree with @mitchellh on that crazy issue thread. It's a terminal emulator and that's the whole fucking point of terminfo in the first place.
