  2. #MissKitty does not know enough in this area yet, but her opinion is #hospice should always be offered instead of #tech prolonging solutions if that is the choice. I am against #euthanasia. Thou shalt not kill. Our #death has meaning and those going through it will certainly discover it.

  3. For me, a road to death, that you're aware of, includes having personal dignity & being able to live out your last days/weeks/months/years with as much joy & comfort as possible. I don't believe that terminally ill people deserve lesser than humane, compassionate care. I believe in protecting their fragile conditions, supporting them(and some of their loved ones) on difficult days & helping them to plan their own end of life journey.

  4. CW: Mutual aid request for a friend who is dying 💔

"Thank you to those who have donated.

Sadly, I have been told that I must go to hospice. My heart efficiency has crashed and the tests show that fixing the issues are not feasible. I have accepted my fate and I am just going to try to enjoy my time that I have left.

Thanks to a nonprofit and Medicaid the majority of my hospice bill has been paid. However, I am responsible for a $2000 copay. I haven’t been able to work for the past month and so I don’t have the money to pay it, so any amount you can help me with will be appreciated. If there is any extra, it will go towards funeral expenses. Thank you for everything. Don’t be sad, it’s just the start of a new journey"

Any bit helps! I want him to be able to have peace and for his children to also have peace of mind in his past days.

Thank you so much for the shares and donations 💜🌻

  5. An important perspective on hospices. My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable cancer about 18 months ago, she was initially horrified to receive a letter about palliative care, but her local hospice offers her so much more than just end of life care. This includes therapy, massages and any number of other outpatient services for her and her family.

  6. CW: End of life stuff, death, advice please

My grandmother is dying and she doesn't know it. She has Alzheimer's and forgets what's happened even 30 seconds earlier. Some things stick sometimes, and it depends on the day. Maybe she will remember it for 5 minutes.

Do you tell a dying person they're dying over and over? So far we have just been telling a lie, that she will be out of hospital soon. Which isn't true. But she is very anxious and not happy to be there.

My instinct is to continue to lie, for her comfort, because she can't handle learning she's dying for the first time every 5 minutes.

But on the other hand, she probably has things she wants to say in the context of her dying. Like things she wants to tell us, wants us to know. I want her to have the opportunity to say what she needs to, even if she will forget. She deserves to know she's dying so she can consider certain things.

Do I just have a conversation about love and what we mean to each other, without bringing up her death?
