Efekt współpracy z naukowcami i nauczycielami

I'm looking at a student's assignment in Google Classroom. At the top, it is reported as "missing". Right underneath that, I can see the non-empty document that they handed in.
I won't go so far as to say an LLM only has one job, but consistently reporting whether something was handed in or not seems pretty basic.

#UK #EdTech #Google #GoogleClassroom #Privacy #DataProtection: "There has been an explosion in uses of educational technology (EdTech) to support schools’ teaching, learning, assessment and administration. This article asks whether UK EdTech and data protection policies protect children's rights at school. It adopts a children's rights framework to explore how EdTech impacts children's rights to education, privacy and freedom from economic exploitation, taking Google Classroom as a case study. The research methods integrate legal research, interviews with UK data protection experts and education professionals working at various levels from national to local, and a socio-technical investigation of the flow of children's data through Google Classroom. The findings show that Google Classroom undermines children's privacy and data protection, potentially infringing children's other rights. However, they also show that regulation has impacted on Google's policy and practice. Specifically, we trace how various governments’ deployment of a range of legal arguments has enabled them to regulate Google's relationship with schools to improve its treatment of children's data. Although the UK government has not brought such actions, the data flow investigation shows that Google has also improved its protection of children's data in UK schools as a result of these international actions. Nonetheless, multiple problems remain, due both to Google's non-compliance with data protection regulations and schools’ practices of using Google Classroom. We conclude with a blueprint for the rights-respecting treatment of children's education data that identifies needed actions for the UK Department for Education, data protection authority, and industry, to mitigate against harmful practices and better support schools."

I spent several frustrating hours trying to figure out an elegant solution to a #GAM problem.
I did not figure it out. I did a mind-numbing amount of copying and pasting instead.
But I still want to figure it out for next time, so if you know GAM, #GoogleAdmin, #edtech, #GoogleClassroom, #bash?... seeking hints.

I want to add our students to their Google Classroom courses.
I have the students added to a group.
Attempt 1: Add the group email to the course as a student (in bulk via CSV). It works when an individual teacher does it, right? Failed.
Attempt 2: Sync the course participants with the group membership (in bulk via CSV). There's documentation that says this is a feature! But it's a lie. Failed.
I tried to convince GAM a couple different ways, but the only way I'm left with is to make one *monster* CSV, listing the students one by one for every course.
So. I've got a CSV of course alias, group email. I've got another CSV with student email, group email. I need to make a CSV with course alias, student email.
I know in my *bones* there was a way to create that obnoxiously long CSV that didn't involve nearly so much copy-paste. Do you know what it was?

Is Google Classroom really worth the effort?
- The "Stream" is useless, because students don't see things posted there unless they explicitly set up email notifications. I already have a regular class email list for communication.
- The classwork calendar could be a simple Google calendar shared with the students. That would actually be *easier* to work with for tasks like changing a due date -- just drag rather than dig through menus.
- I imagine a Google Drive or even GitHub would be easier for handin, because it would allow me to download submissions in bulk (or even run scripts on them). I don't need the "you can't edit your turned-in file until it's been returned" feature.
- Since I'm ungrading, I don't need the gradebook. I especially don't need its lousy "assignments will be listed in the order they were created and you can't change this" policy.
- I already have an official roster.I feel like I'm doing a bunch of work to shoehorn things into this LMS and I'm not getting much out of it.
