it's a cozy digital-and-print publication about the indie web, very accessible to everyone, not just to technologists
reading it reignited some of the desire to build an experience on the web that lies outside the norm of "usefulness" and "coherence"
i'm grateful to all authors and to @xandra for orchestrating it

the members event runs until october 18th, after which pre-orders will open to the public (with shipping fees)! you can join as a free member and get notified when that happens. :)
pre-ordering the magazine helps us with our upfront printing costs, which is hundreds of dollars per run. it's sooo crucial to making sure i don't go into debt for printing these magazines! <3

Interesting read about the history of some corners in the Web. Didn't know that AO3 was developed by fans, who want to publish their funfiction without any corporations around.
Ah, and Tumblr :dragnaww: I was trying to write my blog on Tumblr those days. Sadly, I didn't understand things about community in these days and thought that it was just a blogging platform like Blogger or Wordpress, but with shiny interface :dragnsarc:

What a sweet discovery this was!
Good Internet is back in Switzerland, just in time for the 1st of August and a well-deserved dessert. 🇨🇭This issue #1 truly is a thing of beauty. So much so that I already have subscribed and am very much looking forward to future issues 😊 and if you love the Internet I'd warmly recommend you to do the same.

Oh, I say, splendid! This just came in today. The same day I pre-ordered @timbl "This is for everyone"...
What a nice feeling to see articles printed on paper again! I'm very much looking forward to read it on the beach in Italy, and then reread it again at home and find grains of sand stuck all over its pages...

welp! i had no clue the print payment link was no longer working on the #goodinternet site (T_T) and someone mentioned "wishing they knew about it before" so they could've purchased.
don't assume everything is on purpose! nobody reported this bug (and i hadn't been checking). so the print edition has been down for almost a week. :(

Good Internet is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit print and digital quarterly magazine for personal website owners and those interested in using the internet as a means of self-expression, art, and recreation. The name Good Internet comes from Katie Baker's The Day the Good Internet Died, hopefully proving that headline wrong.
