Looking at my Global Entry app for TSA which apparently has been updated. They want me to create a PIN, but give the option to “Skip” if I don’t want to create one.
And then this abomination of a message. No, I don’t want to erase all app data. But how is my data not deleted if my only option is to delete data? Arrrgggh!

#Minnesota resident Nicole Cleland had her Global Entry & #TSAPrecheck privileges revoked 3 days after an incident in which she observed activity by #immigration agents, the woman said in a court declaration. An agent told Cleland that he used #facialRecognition technology to identify her, she wrote in a declaration filed in US District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Each country visited had to be selected from a list. The UI was excellent. I could type a substring and the options would be limited to countries containing that substring ✅. I couldn’t find Turkey. Searched Tu, scrolled the unfiltered list no Turkey.
WHY?

Pessimism be damned!
I got approved for another five years. No interview, even after Morocco and Côte d'Ivoire, which I figured would be flagged as “suspicious.”
The letter mentions nothing about the new card or reenrollment packet. Which I have to imagine won’t hit the mail after the shutdown. But who knows.

On Thursday I applied for my global entry renewal. Yesterday -Saturday- I received a response… While the government is shut down.
Have to imagine that’s bad news. Did they find my tooter? 🤨 My login.gov credentials aren’t on my phone, so we’ll have to wait.

Nothing like finding out Global Entry/TSA Pre expired 3 weeks ago.... a week before a work trip.
How does an email not go out to customers? I can only imagine how long it's going to take in this current environment of Trump Fuckery.
Fuck. 3 trips in the next month I'll be muggling through the line…

15 trips in 2024, plenty of flights and train rides, and also a couple of ferry rides. 6 to the US alone (thank goodness for #GlobalEntry), other countries visited include Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, Monaco, France, Estonia, Taiwan, Sweden, and Finnish Lapland. First 3 trips for 2025 are all work trips - Zurich, Belgium and Florida. That reminds me I still need to book some hotels and flights...

The city has me back. #GlobalEntry is a rapid breeze to go through, I wonder why this is not the standard for everyone in the US who is permanent resident or citizen....
Nowadays the Global entry kiosks only scan your face - no need for a passport anymore. A CBP officer checks whether your name (!) was detected as Global Entry member and that was it. 30 seconds.

Don't make my mistake and change your eye color for fun while renewing your state drivers license, and then a few months later update your eye color to match your drivers license while submitting your Global Entry renewal. Your Global Entry application will be "Pending Review" for at least nine months...I'll update you when they finally get to reviewing it 🫠
The silver lining is that I can continue using Global Entry past the expiration date if they don't get to my renewal application in time. 🥲
What a lesson to have learned...

Interesting if predictable hiccup with no-paper-receipt #GlobalEntry immigration at IAD: The CBP officer at first didn't recognize me in the lineup of mug shots from the GE kiosks on his screen and asked if I'd used one or was in Global Entry at all. I said yes and since 2013, and I guess he must have spotted my face because he then handed my passport back, asked if I had anything to declare (no) and waved me through.
