#introduction Hi All

Been lurking for a while to feel how everyone interacts. Already found lots of interesting things and got excited following #fossdem this year.

Main current interests are improving my minimalist natural pool to #pond conversion and using and contributing to very wide range #foss software and hardware.

Focussed #tags for the latter include:
#machinist #machinists #machining #cnc, #FreeCAD

Firm believer that #crossplatform should get a lot more recognition, the less silos the better!

PineTime from Infinitime to WaspOS

I uploaded from WaspOS binary the bootloader and now I can't connect with my mobile anymore to the pinetime 🙄

I was once connected with my computer but disconnected, now I can't connect it anymore 🙄

I know it's not your OS, but do you have any trick @JF ?

@nik Ja, das klingt nach Shit.

Aber wohl Zeit mit entsprechendem Kommentar die Bank zu wechseln oder eine Kreditkarte zu organisieren. Abgesehen davon stellen so ziemlich alle Banken auf Debit Karten um, da brauchste oft keine App für um die zur Zahlung zu nutzen.

Allerdings: Brüssel ist halt auch totales Kreditkarten-Territorium und scheißt überall auf Bargeld. Wenn man da lokale Foodtrucks organisiert, ist das wenig überraschend. Die #FOSSDEM ist halt aber auch nur ein Event gesponsort von Großkonzernen, vielleicht sollte man da dann auch nix erwarten. I dunno.

Nach einem interessanten Vortrag über ETL mit Python und DuckDB geht's jetzt weiter mit einem Vortrag über Django und dessen Admin Funktionalität. Wird schon technisch:)

And I will be cheering on Dimas who will be presenting our work on BIMS https://kartoza.com/bims, an open source biodiversity information management system.

Staying after #drupal4gov for #fossdem. Just visited very good photo exhibition. Ukraine 1990s to now. https://www.brusselsmuseums.be/en/museums/geopolis-centre-for-photojournalism There's a distributed Photography festival also on across #Brussels.

Will there be Haskellers at FOSSDEM this year? A get-together is preparing :)

I wish I was in a better shape to follow #Fossdem this year, but #Iran's situation is really affecting my life right now.

Anyways, I hope the #FLOSS community this year can point to a brighter future.

Today I finally milled the base (cradle) for the Stonehenge project out of brass.
The toolpaths were done in #FreeCAD
It is so much nicer than the aluminium part, the weight is quite different.

I will bring one to the combined #kicad and #freecad booth on #fossdem

Ο #osaid (σ.σ. ορισμός για την «ΤΝ ανοιχτού κώδικα») αντί να ζητάει όλα τα δεδομένα να είναι ανοιχτά - περιορίζεται στο να «καλύπτεται» με μια απλή περιγραφή τους.
Γιατί αυτό είναι τόσο σημαντικό; Γιατί αν δεν έχεις ΟΛΑ τα data του μοντέλου, δεν μπορείς να είσαι (καθόλου) σίγουρος/η για το πως αυτό λειτουργεί.
Στο #Fossdem την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα μάλωνα με «αξιωματούχους της Ε.Ε.» που λέγανε ότι αυτό είναι «απαραίτητο κακό».
Σήμερα η κατάσταση έχει πλέον ξεφύγει[1] και ο καθένας λέει ότι θέλει.

Haven't really had a chance to watch any of the relevant #fossdem talks, have there been any major updates? Does the project have a public timeline anywhere?
