  1. Question to other #NVDA #ScreenReader users: What clipboard manager do you use? I've been using Ditto, but the labeling in the keyboard shortcuts settings is horrible and making it really hard to set them. When I used it on my last PC, I had JAWS, which reads the field names better, but I've chosen not to install that on this PC.

  2. @thinkroot99 I would like too see a new clipboard manager developed by Mint, similar to copyq, for Cinnamon, really needed.

  3. To #blind #Windows users, what #ClipboardManager do you use? I've been trying Ditto, but the keyboard shortcuts page seems inaccessible. I can't tell what edit field goes with what option.

  5. KDE Plasma 6.5 adds favorites to clipboard manager

This week, we have some of the new feature additions to the upcoming KDE Plasma 6.5 desktop environment. While some of those features that were added are interesting, we have a particular feature we want to give a shout out, because it increases productivity significantly.

This new feature that we’re talking about was turned from a 22-year old feature request that was reported in 2003 (while KDE 3.1 was the current desktop version) using the old KDE Bugzilla instance to fruition in KDE Plasma 6.5! The KDE Team has now considered this to be a new record for the oldest feature request ever implemented!

You can now add your commonly-pasted items to the starred items so that you can access them more easily than before. Not only that, but you can save them permanently so that you don’t lose them between sessions.

To star a clipboard item, drag your mouse cursor to a clipboard item that you wish to favorite, then press the star button to add it to your favorite clipboard items. This is similar to how Samsung’s keyboard clipboard “pinning” feature works in One UI.

  6. Last month, I went for a few drinks with @tero and ended up buying a clipboard manager.

Last time I tried years ago, they didn't quite work for my needs but this time I think I found a sweet spot.

  7. I’ve been testing several clipboard managers, & now when I copy something, I see it go into the clipboard manager du jour, then a second copy comes in. I have two Macs, & these clipboard managers sync through iCloud, so maybe it’s getting reflected back and forth between them. Or it’s because I have too many.

Uninstalled or disabled all but Quip (I think). Ideas?

  8. @Alrescha I’ve learned that what I’m looking for is called a #clipboardmanager, and there are several I need to check out: #maccy #Pastepal #pastenow #copyem There are probably many more.

  9. Pano Clipboard Manager Now Works in Ubuntu 23.10

In the world of Linux clipboard managers few can match the panache of Pano, a GNOME Shell extension I first wrote about last year. Pano offers an interactive, visually-rich dashboard from which to store, search, and organise your clipboard history. It’s similar to the popular macOS app Paste but arguably better since it’s free, open-source software and works on Linux. Well, I’m pleased to report that this flashy productivity aid (which can be navigated entirely from the keyboard, if you want) now supports GNOME 45 and Ubuntu 23.10. Better yet, the add-on now lets you choose where on screen it :sys_more_orange:

  10. Cool, now my clipboard manager on Gnome 45 shows pictures too? Awesome.

At the level I use the operating systems, #LinuxMint and #LMDE are functionally identical. Things no doubt differ at a deep level, but the deepest thing I do is paste the update command for #Calibre into the terminal.

Programs in the Software Managers have different versions, however. I use #CopyQ #ClipboardManager and #KDEKate #TextEditor. Linux Mint has CopyQ 6.0.1 and Kate 21.12.3, while LMDE has 6.4.0 and 22.12.3. Both have little annoyances in LMDE.

  12. So, I've just bought PasteBot from @tapbots and I really love it! There's one feature I would love to have, (which probably goes beyond the scope of a clipboard manager) and that's the ability to edit the text entries stored within the Pasteboard library.

Does anyone have any suggestions of an app that I can get that does this?

(I did consider using my Streamdeck, but it has a maximum text entry size of 500 characters)

  13. I just installed Pano - Clipboard Manager. Well, this extension is awesome. I like how easy it is to use and its design.

  14. Can anyone recommend a good clipboard manager for iOS?
My needs aren’t too robust here. Just a small buffer that’s easy enough to get too is all I really need. I prefer paid to free, and would cots small annual subscription.
Trust and privacy are paramount because there will be some sensitive things that I copy and paste.
I find pasteboard managers on Mac more essential and extra features are nice, but here just a buffer.

  15. I am using XClipper and it is brilliant. The clipboard history even survives reboot!

I used to open a tab to hashify.me and post things into it as a workaround just in case a form I was typing a long text into would unload from memory as I was flipping tabs for sources and quotes. hashify.me stores text in the URL, so it can survive an unload+reload.

Never again! Now I just copy the partially-written post to the clipboard and I can still go find and copy links and quotes without losing it.

  16. @nyquildotorg hmm, that certainly sounds like a bug rather than a feature...
I knew a clipboard change was coming though because my favourite Android clipboard manager, Clipper+ Sync, announced it was shutting down because of it. Never fully realised the extent of it.

#GBoard's #clipboardManager is decent, but I wish the auto-expire of items could be turned off. I also wish it had #ClipperPlus's ability to sort pinned items into custom categories, and search its lists, and sync between devices.
