Dankeschön, liebe @Bundesregierung, dass wir nun entsprechend beim CIVICUS Monitor den gleichen Status wie Ungarn, die USA oder Italien haben. Zumindest gibt es noch einiges Dunkelgrün als Ausweichmöglichkeiten.

CIVICUS identifiziert Länder, in denen deren Meinung nach die bürgerlichen Freiheiten rapide abnehmen, und nimmt sie in eine Liste auf, die als „Monitor Watchlist“ bekannt ist.

Haven't had chance to really dig into what led to change, but given that V-DEM Peaceful Assembly is component in calculation of Civicus rating, guessing that V-DEM score decline is driving this rating.

It could be worse, like Germany, France, UK or the US, but it's clearly visible that the #Netherlands is by far not the country of human rights any-more. The so-called 'tolerate' country is not dead, but has never existed. It was a facade for capitalist reasons.

As the national elections set for January 2024 approach, there is a growing increase in actions taken against opposition groups, activists, and individuals expressing dissent in Bangladesh. Today, the global watchdog organization CIVICUS Monitor included Bangladesh in its list of countries where civic freedoms are rapidly diminishing due to a crackdown on government critics and opposition figures.
