An interesting matchup for my personal loyalties.

Almost all of my cousins on my Dad's side (from Ft. Wayne, IN) attended Indiana University (Dad graduated from Purdue).

Both my parents attended Northwestern for grad school (how they met). The Evanston Township High School (ETHS) marching band (including yours truly) played for Northwestern's homecoming game halftime, every year.

Let's say you wanted to expand the #B1G / #Big10 from 18 to 24 teams to create a super conference, and the goal was to make it an AAU-exclusive, #FBS -only unis with the highest academic rankings. First, you'd knock out Nebraska (kicked out of AAU in 2011 and lowest academic ranking), then add 7 schools highlighted in yellow. So the Oregon and Ole Miss game were a waste of time. Not all the teams in College Football can compete at the highest level. I would say the bottom half of the major conferences don't really compete either.

Time to create a College NFL league or 36 teams or less where we see real competition every week, not just 2 or 3 times a season for a team and the rest of CFB can do what they want.

@arjen What's sad is that they think they'll keep their place in the #Big10 and get back into the #AAU with this cut. "We have a #biostats department at UNMC" -- well, yeah, but biostatisticians don't design ag field experiments, or specialize in data visualization (our department has 2 #datavis researchers), or teach consulting, and they probably don't have extra time to support a #datascience program.
