This is very bad. Not only will teams from the west coast needlessly burn fossil fuels flying to Texas and back, they will have to risk entering the fascist state of Texas. Who knows what their racist governor will do with minority players?
I think the reason the teams are now flying cross-country isn't that they make some TV revenue joining the big conferences back east. It's because some rich people decided it would burn more fossil fuel to have the conferences act like billionaires jet-setting across the country, and that's fascist America, baby.
Plus, the rich get to chortle at the symbolism of the weak knuckling under to the powerful each time a team aircraft is fueled with liquid gold.
You can't stop fascism in America any more than you can stop international oil barons from ruining the place. All of the big domestic and international money is on the side of the fascists. That this country was "good" always was an illusion. It's a toy for the uber-rich that they were compelled to use against their pal, Adolf.
It will be rotten for me. I like watching college sports, but I don't like contributing to the fascist takeover. And I don't like watching teams playing 2000 miles from home on a weekly long-haul flight schedule.
Oh, hey. Congratulations, Pac12. If you insist.

@dangillmor @_L1vY_ The pure college football fan in me died when the #Pac12 ceased to exist in the blink of an eye. But I now live in #Tennessee and I think there’s some law on the books mandating everyone follow the #SEC so what can I do? Seriously, though, I’m glad the players are at least able to get ahold of some of the booty.

No offense to the San Jose State Spartans (I grew up in San Jose & respect SJSU) but ever since the conference was annihilated, (THANKS LARRY) the former #Pac12 football teams just have NOT been the same.
(Except Oregon, of course. They're still juicing with PEDs & Phil Knight Nike money. 🙄)

Since Oregon left the #Pac12 and now play in the #BigTen, I watch #OregonWBB games with the B1G+ app on my AppleTV.
It's an _okay_ app, but every 60 seconds during the stream it jumps back a second or so.
Every 60 seconds, exactly, like clockwork.
Anyone else noticing the same?

I’m pretty sure that if my dad was still with us he would be extremely confused and more than a little bothered that the #AppleCup is being played on his birthday and not in late November. Not only that, it’s now a meaningless game on the schedule. He was a #WSU #Cougar superfan his whole life. The demise of the #Pac12 and WSU completely losing out would have made him profoundly sad.

Christ, this is SO WEIRD. When they show the BIG 10 Network and Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, Nebraska, Illinois, Michigan State...
...with UCLA, USC, Washington & Oregon, I just might wig out. -
