Apple ogłosiło nową, wieloletnią umowę z firmą Broadcom, której wartość ma przekroczyć 30 miliardów dolarów.
Gigant z Cupertino chce przenieść produkcję kluczowych komponentów łączności bezprzewodowej bezpośrednio do Stanów Zjednoczonych, inwestując w rozwój fabryki w Fort Collins w stanie Kolorado. To kolejny krok producenta iPhone’ów w stronę budowy niezależnego od azjatyckich rynków łańcucha dostaw podzespołów krzemowych.
Produkcja 15 miliardów komponentów w USA
W ramach umowy Broadcom otrzyma 1,5 miliarda dolarów na modernizację i rozbudowę swojego zakładu w Kolorado. Celem inwestycji jest uruchomienie produkcji zaawansowanych komponentów radiowych, w tym filtrów FBAR, które są niezbędne w nowoczesnych modułach łączności bezprzewodowej stosowanych w smartfonach i komputerach Apple.
Łącznie z linii produkcyjnych w Fort Collins ma wyjechać ponad 15 miliardów chipów. Apple podkreśla, że jest to jak dotąd największe zobowiązanie w ramach amerykańskiego programu produkcyjnego (American Manufacturing Program), co ma zaowocować stworzeniem setek nowych miejsc pracy na rynku amerykańskim.

#Today I'll be #running in Sam's Rainbow Run, a 5k in #FortCollins, #Colorado. I don't expect to win, not with all these young college kids involved, but I wanted to get this one back. I entered this race two years ago and then busted my ankle on a trampoline and couldn't participate. I did a bunch of PT and really started running again this spring. So today I get to do what I was frustrated I couldn't do a couple years ago.

Current Situation
We are closely monitoring and preparing for a potential extreme fire weather event, including strong wind, low humidity and extremely dry ground conditions, forecast to start on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, in certain limited areas within Larimer and Weld counties. This limited area includes parts of Fort Collins and nearby communities to the north and west.
The ongoing very dry conditions and historically low snowpack in the region coupled with high winds are the primary drivers of these risk factors and may create the potential for an extreme fire weather environment. Wildfire risk is expected to increase, and strong winds may damage our power lines resulting in outages.
To reduce the risk of wildfire and support public safety, we are evaluating the potential need for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) for a limited number of customers in Larimer and Weld counties, including in parts of Fort Collins and nearby communities to the north and west, on Friday, Jan. 16, beginning around 7 a.m. Customers can look up their address on our outage map to determine if they will be impacted by this event. "
