Not #rugbyleague, but #football for a change. With #Hearts and #Hibs going out of the #ScottishCup this weekend, the only #Edinburgh team left in the draw are #Spartans. The last time the last Edinburgh team in the cup was neither Hearts nor Hibs was 1938, when St Bernard's were beaten by East Fife in the second semi-final replay.
Before that, it was Murrayfield Amateurs in 1929, and Leith Athletic in 1904 (possibly St Bernard's again in-between).

With the completion of the Drum Corps International World Championships on August 10, the 2024 North American drum corps season has come to a close. While it is earlier than we are used to now that all-age ends on the same day as junior corps, the season was a significant success for the activity. Congratulations to the champions of all DCI classes:

I didn’t get to as many shows this summer as I usually do, but I was able to get some good performance photos and write up my coverage at the shows I was at. Hopefully, next season’s schedule will line up better with my own.

Ukrainian "Spartans" from the special purpose brigade of the National Guard need to raise 60,000 UAH for aerial reconnaissance equipment and protection from enemy FPV-drones. They are currently defending against enemy attacks and require special equipment for reconnaissance and drone defense. They are raising funds for DJI Mavic 3T drone, dome RER jammer, and Starlink. Over 239,000 UAH has been collected so far. The total goal is 300,000 UAH. #Ukraine #Spartans
