I often see that question about the way I use #E2EE over #ActivityPub.
#FediHood and #HolosSocial do not use the end-to-end encryption #Mastodon is working on. They are going for MLS over ActivityPub. I use the Signal Protocol, already working between Holos and FediHood, which I both maintain. Once MLS is available, I'll happily switch.
But to be clear: it works perfectly with the Signal Protocol. The switch would only be for compatibility.

Me? Hiding? Not a chance.

I couldn't hide even if I tried, because members of a scam group called "Gaza Verified" have already DOXed me twice (2x). They published my full name, home address, phone number, and email. They are also the ones sending me death threats and trying to ruin my reputation.

Instead of letting them bully me into silence, I decided to stand my ground. Yes, my name is Adam Howard, and I live in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Anyone can easily find me on Google. I've even shared my voting ballot to prove my progressive record. I am not hiding, I am not anonymous, and I always use the same screen name — Linux or LinuxBSD, depending on availability.

Now they are accusing me of "ban evasion." That is ridiculous. Participating on a decentralized network is not avoiding a ban. If that were true, the scam group Gaza Verified would be guilty of it themselves.

It's the classic "rules for you, but not for me" attitude. While they waste time playing games. 🙄

I am actually trying to fix the system. I have posted three (3) suggestions on GitHub to help Mastodon users and admins escape abuse and make the internet safer. I bet the people complaining are the exact ones who don't want the internet or the Fediverse to be safer.
