Continuing to share Femring updates, because, hey, #perimenopause is a ride.
John Oliver had a whole show last night about problems with generic drugs -- basically what I've been dealing with generic transdermal estrogen patches not workingl.
Yesterday (day 8, Femring) was rough. On day 7 of the ring, my body was like "Estrogen! Time for a period!" An unwelcome surprise 16 days after my last period. Headaches all day yesterday (not migraine, thank god) and nausea.
All that is common for estrogen side effects, but rougher than I've felt before. I think because I was on the generic right before switching, my estrogen had plummeted (matches getting more hot flashes and migraine), and then I suddenly jacked up to 0.1 with the ring instead of the more gradual 0.025, 0.050, 0.075, 0.10 progression I'd originally done with the brand name patches.
Less nausea today and lighter headache, so I'm going to sit tight for another week before writing my GP. Hope it stabilizes soon.
