Anyone for the outdatedness of Slackware?
My Slackware Tilers setup runs Sway, with the nwg-shell. And Mangowc with Noctalia. And Niri with Dank. Hyprland is available, but not installed. And Slackware Current. All from one iso and repository by @jloc0 . Smart thing: package sets are linked by symbolic links. Type "slackpkg install dank" and you'll see all related packages before they're pulled in. Way less 'dependency hell'. And very much up to date 😄 Thanks Jay!

A Plugin for the DankBar allowing multiple clocks to show with reasonable settings and visuals.

scratchpad fehlt nun leider, aber dafür kann ich die unterschiedlichen SAP-Systeme (Produktiv, Test) wieder anhand der Fensterrahmenfarbe erkennen. Die Möglichkeit verschiedene Tilings, je nach Tag, einzustellen nutzte ich kaum.
Und die Übersichten sind bei niri schon Klasse, sowohl die Workspace-Übersicht als auch die Fensterübersicht!
Hier kann man sehr schön justieren, ob man nur die Fenster des Monitors, des Workspaces oder alle Fenster sehen möchte. -

Doing a sync of my RYM tag hierarchy template in Linux w/ Niri and besides xwayland-satellite jank leading to visual artifacting on Avalonia apps, honestly?
The scrollable tiling basically curbs a lot of the mental fatigue from having a bunch of windows everywhere.
Once xwayland-satellite fixes that issue with Avalonia apps (which I have reported!), Niri will be PERFECT.

Honestly, I don’t think Cosmic Desktop is as revolutionary as many people seem to claim. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and functional, but still very immature and definitely not revolutionary. In practice, it’s GNOME with tiling. Niri is revolutionary, but it’s a Window Manager, not a Desktop Environment. That’s where Dank Shell comes in: I’ve been using Niri + Dank Shell for two months, and the level of convenience is truly revolutionary.
