I felt I wanted a change on my secondary computer (a mini PC I use for gaming) from my valve VGUI/AmigaOS combo theme, and felt like going for a Windows 7 look. Why 7 in particular? Just because I missed Aero with it's frosted glass-like transparency around the windows/taskbar and the 3D-ish close/minimise/maximise buttons of old. I'm pretty please this kitbash of several Win7-inspired theme assets looks - stars I missed Windows Aero! :apartyblobcat:

I gotta’ say, I dont think I’ve EVER been happier with a desktop environment than I am right now with Plasma 6.6.5. It does EVERYTHING I want it to do, and looks fantastic doing it.
Of course, I’m a hobbyist and not a gamer or someone who WORKS on their computer for a living, so YMMV, but this is just DE nirvana for me right here.

As I was learning about Boolean Algebra, I forgot that I needed to update the aesthetic and theme of my laptop!
As I named my laptop a very particular name, the only natural outcome was a Heaven Official's Blessing theme. My desktop is the iconic scene when Hua Cheng and Xie Lian first meet in a haunted forest. The lockscreen is a tender moment between the men underneath a Red-Leafed Maple tree, my heart was warmed to the point of bursting. I'm enamored by the gentleness and intimacy of the scene. The final touch for the User Image, is a stylized red lotus that felt complementary to the overall theme
I've also realized that I have yet to find a good icon set for this overall theme because it's going to be a challenge to do so. However, I am surely going to at some stage stumble upon a great icon set and a better cursor at some point.
I might experiment with flat icon themes until stumbling upon the right one for this theme.

Since having Plasma and COSMIC on the same machine causes all sorts of issues, I’ve assigned the task of keeping an eye on COSMIC to Hevy.
COSMIC is still missing features I’d like to see, but it’s coming along nicely.
* The artifacts around the windows are coming from the COSMIC Screenshot utility.

Appo is back and better than ever! He was running macOS as a BlueBubbles host, but I never used it, so he sat unused for nearly a year until I brought him back to life with Garuda Linux!
He’s a bedroom PC connected to my TV and stereo HomePod mini pair at the moment. Whatever I can’t play though my AppleTV I can play on Appo and still get stereo sound on the HomePods!

Still not as easy as #Fedora when it comes to app installation and management, but Garuda is faster, supports hibernation on my laptop, and the built-in “Rani” app for system management is great stuff. So far, the only issues I’ve had with it are ones of my own making, so no complaints.

Been impressed with #GarudaLinux as a daily driver on my laptop compared to Fedora. Garuda boots faster, has a very nice update system & built-in tools, seems to make the fans spin less, and has hibernate support!
Downsides: it doesn’t like SAMBA, it doesn’t support KDE Discover nor `pamac` NOR Flatpak! Yes, I can install Flatpak support, but come on, Garuda! Octopi is for masochists who don’t care about app discoverability.

I made a customized wallpaper to fit lightdm-greeter in Linux Mint. I only moved the login box to the center of the screen and applied the wallpaper in the login manager. So we can't really call it a theme..
