How dare this fascist, whose blindness and class reactivity of the "liberal" American monopoly offered him electorally and ideologically white pauperism, come out so emphatically supportive of his far-right and Nazi friends?
Trump hid behind the fact that in addition to Nazis and openly racist far-rights, the Unite The Right fascists marched with classic ultra-conservative whites who oppose the tearing down of reactionary Southern Civil War monuments, but have generally not been exposed. using force. In Greek terms, that is, it is as if ultra-conservative, religious neo-democrats went to an event with chrysaugiites and karatzaferikis.
The Russian-made new head of the American state, however, particularly focused on the violence exercised by the "Antifa" camp. They carried bats, wore hoods and generally took to the streets armed, which Trump made sure to highlight to equate them as an equal threat to fascists, in the name of "down with the violence of both ends".
These are unprecedented situations for the USA, but we who have experienced them in Europe and especially in Greece, have the experience to see where the compass of the future is pointing. But much more than us, the global organizer of false dipoles and Trump's patron, Russian social-imperialism, has the same compass.
Obviously, and unlike the fascist base, which is the most politically backward thing in the US, the Antifa base belongs to the main side in the progressive camp, that is, the militant youth that rejects ethno-racism and deeper social injustice.
However, a series of indications and events show us that the Russophile social-fascists and pseudo-liberals in the USA, especially those led by Obama-Sanders, follow exactly the line that literally buried anti-fascism in Greece, especially after 2013 and the assassination of the hero Pavlos Fyssa, a line that finally cemented the Nazis as part of the "proper" political scene.
Already on the day of Trump's inauguration, sections of the anarchist Black Bloc proceeded - for the first time to such an extent in the USA - to destroy shop windows, cars, etc. in Washington, as "anti-Trump". They were little or not at all condemned by the leadership of the convenient Obama-driven anti-Trump movements of those days, just as for decades in Greece the pasokite GSEE - ADEDY and SYN - SYRIZA never denounced the scoundrels. Instead, they were accepted as part of the movement that was "just wrong" or exaggerating.
Then and while Trump woke up the far-right part of the Republicans, along with the fringe white fascists outside of it, instead of the first-initial form of anti-fascist mobilizations being peaceful, with uncovered faces and a broad anti-fascist front line with every anti-racist, from on the Left up to the democrat part of the Republicans (which is by no means negligible in volume), Antifa immediately began the covert sectarian violence against the fascists, without the latter having first been exposed, having clearly taken responsibility for raising their hand first and to have been hated by the democratic majority, which is now just beginning to get serious about politics and understand who is who.
Thus, they give Trump the right to "unify" the nation with a line against both "extreme sects" of violence at the same time. Of course, because this guy is hated even by the majority of the Republican establishment, the entire Democratic Party and much of the GOP congressmen and senators have bought into Trump's "equal distance" and have taken a clear position that the main problem is the revival of racist and fascist events and not Antifa. And they did very well.

Sometimes I wonder why Spain is one of the only countries in Europe where the Left still has a spine, can win elections, and is strongly anti-fascist.
And then I remember that fascism is just not an almost meaningless word there. People there remember.
I mean, I remember, as a young child, even three years after Franco's death, the police were freaking scary and had machine guns (when at the time the French police were... let's say way more palatable than nowadays)

My neighborhood football team, CE Europa, just launched a campaign to raise much needed funds. This is a 100% fan owned, local team that plays with explicit anti-fascist/racist/patriarchy/homophobic politics. They need money because both the men's and women's team were promoted to a higher league. That's an amazing achievement but comes with new expenses, both for operations and upgrades to the stadium.
I'm guessing not a lot of my followers on here care about sports all that much. But, this is what the alternative to the fifa/club world cup/sports betting/sports washing/ bull shit money machine looks like. This is sport as community and social fabric.
