  6. "In the ultimate irony, a #documentary examining #antisemitism and the exclusion of #Jewish #artists from #Australia’s #culturalsector has been turned down by the ABC, SBS and the country’s two leading #film festivals.

#Cancelled, #directed by #Melbourne #filmmaker #DannyBenMoshe, will instead receive its world #premiere through the Jewish International #FilmFestival at special program-launch screenings in #Sydney and Melbourne in September.

    The 88-minute documentary follows #singersongwriter #DeborahConway, #visualartist #NinaSanadze, #writer #JoshuaDabelstein and #circusartist #TaliaSofizade after the #Hamas-led attacks in southern #Israel on #October7, 2023.

It records allegations of professional exclusion, #doxxing, threats and hostility directed at Jewish artists.

Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival did not select the film. It was also declined by the ABC and SBS, #Australia’s publicly funded national broadcasters."
