I spent plenty of years making fun of dick-swinging classic rock but this really is a remarkable achievement, executing such a wholly formed vision on a debut album and essentially kicking off a new decade. It just sounds huge.

1976 Germany pressingDiving into the weirder, more rare stuff from my library.
Starting with a very distinct branch from the Kraut rock/prog tree.
It’s his second album, and definitely more playful and theatrical than his previous or than the stuff he did with German prog outfit Grobschnitt.
Lots of spoken word, bizarre tape manipulation, and a stellar long composition called “Der Traum vom Wald”.
For connoisseurs of the weird and wonderful.
Excellent BRAIN 🧠 labels as well.
