Still slowly working on the panasonic rs-260. Cleaned all of the inside, regreased it. Mechanism works again. Made replacement light holders for the Vu meter backlights. Unfortunately I was a bit careless with the soldering iron and hit one of the lenses of the Vu meter. And replaced the belt. #retrocomputing #vintagecomputing #vintageaudio #vintageaudiogear

@f_dion Amazingly I found one. Think this came with Dad's music centre. Cheesey mor music on side A and the B side was for recording, still intact and transferred featuring family chatter in stereo (top of the pops is on in the background so can date it very precisely) and a very irritating young me interviewing my grandparents. Still amazing to listen to this on headphones. #cassette #cassettes #VintageAudio

It was a pretty good weekend.
- I picked up my receiver from the shop - the right channel had been cutting out, and I was getting a lot of static when touching the knobs. All better.
- I stopped by the record store and found a Don Pullen album I didn't have (Solo Piano Album) (1975)
- I caught Helen Sung performing with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra and Roger Humphries. She played tunes from her upcoming release - an homage to her mentors and influences, including: Jimmy Heath, Barry Harris, Clark Terry, Horace Silver, Kenny Barron, Wayne Shorter... Roger played on the last two tunes. It was fantastic.

Wenn Ihr Eure teuren #Geräte bei uns oder jemand anderes zur #reparatur bringt (oder wenn ihr Geräte verkauft) vermeidet bitte unbedingt irgendwas mit #Klebeband an den Geräten anzubringen!
Hier dauert es nur bis zu einer halben Stunden bis alles ab ist.
Bei Röhrenradios kann es passieren, dass das #furnier oder die Rückplatte beschädigt wird.Tesa, Klebeband, was auch immer, hat nichts an den Geräten zu suchen.

Erst einwickeln, dann das Klebeband auf das Verpackungsmaterial. -

I bought my first MiniDisc device (Sony MZ-R55 💽) with my employee discount at Circuit City in November, 1999. I was already the privileged owner of an Aiwa shelf stereo with 3-CD changer, dual tape deck, and TOSLINK optical output, so I was able to create seamless digital mixes of tracks from my favorite albums and artists *long* before anyone I knew had even heard of burning a CD, much less done it themselves.
