If I imagine me and my girlfriend in the room in the picture, I wouldn't say either of us merely pretending, but it's like back to 1960s, enjoying the moment together because we genuinely love the atmosphere. So, we both love it, we share the same fascination.

I made these procedural trees for my roller coaster render (https://youtu.be/6Bv_ZcoLViE). They don't look *super* realistic, but they are pleasing to the eye, and I like the puffs of leaves.

Currently, they animate with an ambient wind effect. I might tear apart the geometry nodes at some point to help improve it, but we'll see.

New capacitors installed... just to reduce 60Hz hum from the power supply, no signal path. Checked all signal paths, but some weird shorting built into the automatic mechanism. The dodgy soldered wires in the head were not conducting, however! #turntablerepair #repair #turntable

Ich hab den Nachmittag genutzt um mal mit meinem Plattenspieler bei einem HIFI-Spezi vorbeizufahren und verschiedene Abtastsysteme ausprobiert. Es ist dann doch kein Ortofon geworden, sondern audio-technica AT33EV

Etwas teurer als geplant, aber der Aufpreis ist es definitiv Wert. Die getesteten Ortofon 2M (rot, blau, bronze) waren auch gut, aber das hier passt einen Tick besser als das bronze... Die für einen höheren Preis waren dann schon noch ein bisschen besser, aber imho rechtfertig es nicht dafür den Preis einen gebrauchten Kleinwagens auszugeben.

Put a spade on the end of the ground wire, after cutting some off. Need capacitors and a new needle still, plus rubber feet. All 3 mail order items. #turntable #repair

Okay, the other project here. Opened this up again and added more lubricant to the center shaft. Turned it (impossibly stiff), lubricated more.. repeated, and suddenly it is moving more smoothly. Turntable starts up right away now vs needing assistance. May need to do this again. Also adjusted the up/down arm which now works again! Was also jammed, non moving. Required lubricant and working it until it started moving again. Gummed out oil seems to be the big issue. #turntable #repair

App says it is a wee bit slow. Probably friction because of the old oil still crusting up the center shaft. #turntable #repair

Turntable turns! But lots of friction on the center, unsure how that mechanism works. Need to go lubricate more stuff. The up/down tonearm mechanism is not working... was pretty frozen, and I lubricated it, but not quite doing it. #repair #turntable

Bought a belt. Local record store for $15. The owner knew which belt as soon as I mentioned the model, instantly. #repair #turntable

Motor runs! Tone arm moves, but does not lower. Need to figure out what controls that. (Most likely a lubrication issue, of course. Just needs oil in the right place). Maybe that belt is involved. Will go find a replacement belt. #repair #turntable #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle

Replaced the capacitor across 120V and one of the others, clipped the others while I wait for my order. Needs a new belt. Lubricated everything. Maybe. #repair #turntable
