As much as I love the #90s Trees output (and I do LOVE IT), the major label money and production value made them a bit of a different band in comparison to the earlier SST albums like this one.
Their earlier records lean more into hazy & heavy #psychedelic #garage rock than the #grunge -a-riffic albums from the halcyon 90s alternative days.
I don’t see a lot of these early SST Trees albums lying around on CD, nevermind vinyl.
It’s a bit of a shock to hear Lanegan’s vocals on these albums if all you’re familiar with is the deep, gravelly voice from their heyday.
Here, his voice is much higher-pitched, and perhaps not yet affected by a lifelong journey into drugs.A pretty great album, with one of my all time favorite Trees tunes in “Smokerings”.

Hanno registrato un Album ad Amburgo con Amaury Cambuzat degli Ulan Bator e Faust e firmato per la 33 Jazz Records rilasciando due Album per il progetto trio con il sassofonista e produttore inglese Paul Jolly che ha aperto ai Black Sabbath negli anni 70.
Il tour in Giappone nel 2016 (18 date in 22 giorni) e tra il 2017 e 18' in Europa e in Cina attraversandola da nord a sud in treno spingendosi in Manciuria suonando come prima band europea.La vocalist Pat Moonchy (Moon) ha fatto parte del progetto Moonchy & Tobias con il produttore americano Todd Tobias (Robert Pollard, Ipecac Records di Mike Patton).
Il chitarrista Lucio Liguori è figlio d’arte.
Nipote di noti musicisti (il batterista Pasquale Liguori, il pianista Gaetano Gaetano Liguori e Gegè Di Giacomo il batterista e poi direttore dell’orchestra di Renato Carosone).borda (Teo Ravelli) ex King Bong, ha registrato un Album con il chitarrista Chris Haskett dei Rollins Band.
Sono attivi nella scena italiana dei live heavy/psych/stoner.
