My daily sci-fi TV episode has been going great, I haven't missed a single day, so I have added another genre: an episode of a western show (or a movie counts of course) every day. There's tons of old western shows I'm interested in and have watched a bit of, and it will motivate me to explore more cause there's so many for free on Roku Channel, Tubi, Plex, and Pluto.

I love when they use the term "Unrated Director's Cut" on a PG-13 movie that was always intended to be PG-13, suggesting it is promising something exotically naughty rather than a little extra blood and violence or sexuality or language they had to trim to avoid an R rating.

For the first time I checked out Dexys Midnight Runners songs that aren't their lone American hit, and this is actually pretty great. Somewhat punk and new wave inspired blue eyed soul. I was expecting it to be more celtic-y, but the Northern soul of it wasn't an unpleasant surprise.

For some weird reason it feels really appropriate right now to watch a very ideologically anti #Nazi film. All the films on this #filmnoir #DVD collection I recently purchased are presented in full screen as the aspect ratios we now associate with old TV were actually quite common on the big screen in those days, so of course I see it as a perfect opportunity to get some good use out of my cute lil #CRTTV and soak in some Orson Welles and Edward G. Robinson.

Out of absolutely nowhere yesterday I decided I had reached the point in my life where I need to start exploring the #DocSavage novels and also because I couldn't find any on my #audiobook service a random modern series it recommended that has some Doc Savage vibes apparently and is set in the 30s.

I've been a fan of Carson Hocevar since I watched him in late models, let alone his great rookie year in a Truck. I loved his victory celebration, though it'll probably be banned by Tuesday, and you're damn right I got teary eyed during his interview. This first of probably many more to come.

Watching a 1997 #NASCAR race at Talladega in beautiful upload quality from NASCAR's own mastertape, remembering back when racing at Talladega wasn't boring and shitty all the time. Wally Dallenbach Jr running right up with Dale Earnhardt a lot of this race, love me some Wally, a favorite of my pet journeyman drivers in the series.

#F1 teams are really just hurting themselves by refusing to give Alex Palou a real shot after all the contract dramas he's gone through. He is easily the greatest #Indycar driver of his era, and already looking like he could be a GOAT sooner than later. I think he'd adapt well to F1, especially to the driving style mandated by these new regulations.

The IHRA has started their own stock car series this year and these were the opening races at my hometrack the other week. I was disappointed I could go but my racing partner had NG drill that weekend, but glad to be able to watch it on their YouTube which I follow cause sometimes I like watching their drag racing which sometimes has names I recognize as former NHRA regulars.

Ranting to my racing chat about the career of David Green who won the 1994 Busch Grand National title and finished runner up in 1996 and 2003, and spent a few years as a Cup journeyman in the late 90s too but never got a very competitive ride cause he was already late 30s in his rookie season.
Think he could have been a solid at least mid-pack Cup driver had he ever been given a ride that could consistently compete at that level,
