I said the same about his voice at the time when watching the opening ceremony at the #2012Olympics!

I remember the #floods in #Evesham in the early 2000s when things like that happened.

There are #marinas on the #GreatOuse that have #floodpoles permanently in position so boats don't get work their way #ashore like that in flood conditions.

My own boat is a Hampton Safari, something a little like yours, and I'm working on a Safari history site. Here's a typical marina image from the site.

  9. Back on 18 Dec 2024 I shared an image, of #leaves before they were cleared from the front of the house.

Just got home from time away after Christmas to find more #blown in by the #wind.

So there's still more to add to the #compost bins.

  13. I don't think I shared this image, taken 24 #November, when I thought I'd finished #clearing the #birch and #sycamore #leaves from the trees around the front of the #house.

Going out tonight I #discovered a host of #oak leaves that have been #blown in by the #wind. Heaven alone knows where they are from.

  17. Image of the Day at rustonhouse.org.uk is a blurry one taken of a #Stoat seen from our bedroom window back in October 2013.

However, today's announcement can be seen on the What's New page
    rustonhouse.org.uk/whatsnew.php
where it reports I've just uploaded 13 new pages containing the stories behind some 70 images captured between January and May 2016.

They show our #treehouse, #daffodils, #Canada #geese fighting for possession of our #lake, a newly planted #dogrose #hedge, newly hatched #goslings, that then go missing, the #dinghy we gave away and a visiting family of #swans.

Yes I'm 10 years out of date on the site recording what we saw around at our old #home and there's a lot more still to come.

    Small world! Small #village! #EastWalton (Pop:87) #Norfolk

Between 1999-2009 I used to live there.

In those days, before everyone was used to buy things online, some dwellings had neither a number or name, and those clustered around the common, at the end of Common Lane, didn't even have a road name. So their official address was

    [Surname]
    The Common
    East Walton
    KINGS LYNN
    PE32 1PX

Now, it seems, some of the cottages don't even have official postal addresses and just two are numbered - 7 and 8.

There's a good reason for the expression #NormalForNorfolk

    #country #countrylife #rural #SouthNorfolk

  22. It's been a long time since our last #gig, so I've been arranging things as I plan to have them at tonight's #show at our #local #VillageHall.

We'll be playing stuff from the #British #Blues boom of the #1960s along with some #pop #songs from the era, to keep a more general elderly audience happy.
