Les gouvernements doivent cesser d’attendre la permission d’agir. Nous ne pouvons pas continuer à espérer que les dispositions actuelles fonctionneront. Il est temps de prendre des mesures décisives : exiger un cessez-le-feu immédiat et permanent ; lever toutes les restrictions bureaucratiques et administratives ; ouvrir tous les points de passage terrestres ; garantir l’accès à tous dans toute la bande de Gaza ; rejeter les modèles de distribution contrôlés par l’armée ; rétablir une réponse humanitaire fondée sur des principes et dirigée par l’ONU ; et continuer à financer des organisations humanitaires impartiales et respectueuses des principes. Les États doivent prendre des mesures concrètes pour mettre fin au siège, telles que l’arrêt du transfert d’armes et de munitions.
Les arrangements fragmentaires et les gestes symboliques, tels que les largages aériens ou les accords d’aide imparfaits, ne servent qu’à masquer l’inaction. Ils ne peuvent se substituer aux obligations juridiques et morales des États de protéger les civils palestiniens et de garantir un accès significatif à grande échelle. Les États peuvent et doivent sauver des vies avant qu’il n’y en ait plus à sauver.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the detention of Alaa Abd el-Fattah in Egypt updating Parliament on his visit to #COP27.
He says he met Egyptian President Sisi and promises to continue to press the Egyptian Government.
The UK gov should be doing more inc making clear that there will be serious consequences to UK-Egypt relations if any harm comes to a British detainee in Egypt. Alaa must be allowed immediate UK consular access but also should be released.
