I decided to check out my local junkyard first because if they had one it would come with a motor and not swapping the motor just makes the repair easier.

They had one Camry left with an intact wiper mechanism i could remove from this junk car for just $35.

My sweetie is very happy!

Also I now have a cool very powerful 12V worm gear motor to save for some other project! I’ll put it next to the much older Honda wiper motor.

The internal gearing that makes the drivers side windshield wiper on my partners 2006 Camry with about 313k miles failed! The motor still worked fine and the mating splines that lock the wiper arm to the drive shaft were still good. The wiper assembly that connects the wiper motor to the wiper arm was $100 at Amazon, and about $66 from RockAuto.

This is the motor and wiper assembly I removed from her car, it’s simple to do, many videos showing how.

#TBT to a couple years ago when I set up "junkyard therapy" for my (women) friends and my three daughters. We set up this junk car and let everyone work out their rage and aggression with baseball bats and sledgehammers. It was exhilarating!
