  1. A cop killed a baby — and people are defending it.

“Deadly force isn’t necessary in a #shoplifting situation. The #officers confirmed in their own statement that they had seen the ‘juvenile’ — they knew a baby was in that car [when they opened fire on it]. The way these small towns operate, we may never see the footage.”

#1 Retro Videos Of Scary Movie (2000) – Some of you might be aware that a brand new Scary Movie (2026) is coming out very soon. Although it’s nice to see Anna Faris and the Wayans brothers in the trailer of the new movie, I am not very motivated to see it. That said, I am more nostalgic about the original Scary Movie of 2000 and that film is significant as there are many retrospective videos about it in YouTube. As such, I posted below the selected videos of Scary Movie (2000) for your enjoyment.

#2 How Tekken 3 Was Made Possible On PlayStation – When I first played Tekken 3 in the arcades in 1997, I was already an avid fan of Tekken 2 which I played a lot on the PlayStation console. Back then, I wondered how Namco would be able to port Tekken 3 on PlayStation are the arcade version had much more powerful hardware. A year later, Tekken 3 was released on PlayStation and I played it a lot. The more I played it, the more impressed I was with how the game looked and felt on PlayStation. Not only that, Tekken 3 on PlayStation had features that the original arcade version did not offer. To find out how Namco made the “impossible port” of Tekken 3 using the PlayStation’s aging hardware, watch the video below.

It was during the 1990s when the NBA became a global phenomenon, when the NBA had such super stars like Michael Jordan, Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and others who made great basketball plays. Back in those days, the Internet was slowly emerging and there obviously was no social media to amplify the great NBA moments. #5 You, Me And The Movies React To Resident Evil: Degeneration – When the computer-generated movie Resident Evil: Degeneration was released in 2008, it created a lot of buzz for the dedicated fans of the Resident Evil video games, particularly those who followed the iconic characters Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (the Resident Evil 2 characters). The limited theatrical releases did not stop the movie from achieving good box office numbers and it went on to sell a lot on DVD and Blu-ray later. But has the movie aged well and does anyone here enjoy it more than the live-action Resident Evil movies of Milla Jovovich? Watch the reaction video below and observe how it impacts You, Me and the Movies.

This was the so-called “Die Hard effect” in reference to the 1988 classic action film that starred Bruce Willis. In 1991, the movie Toy Soldiers was released and it was about an all-male boarding school that got occupied by terrorists, and only a group of rebellious students can achieve a breakthrough. Recently, Rhetorical Thrill posted her reaction video about Toy Soldiers and it is entertaining to watch.

  16. LLANELLI: Habitual shoplifter jailed after six M&S raids in a month – as Trostre retail crime problem laid bare

A habitual shoplifter from Llanelli has been jailed for 10 weeks after carrying out six offences at a Marks and Spencer store within the space of a single month, in a case that Dyfed Powys Police say demonstrates that repeat offenders can face a custodial sentence.

Bradley Pugh, aged 18, targeted the M&S store at Trostre Retail Park in Llanelli on multiple occasions before shop staff recognised him and alerted police. He was arrested on 22 April after being spotted by staff, with his identity confirmed by officers reviewing CCTV footage.

Pugh was charged and remanded in custody on the same day as his arrest. He appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court the following morning, on 23 April, where he admitted all six offences. He was jailed and ordered to pay back a compensation fee of £795.25.

Sergeant Tom Grace, of the Llanelli Neighbourhood Team, praised both his officers and M&S staff for their role in bringing the case to a swift conclusion. He said: “The public can feel rightly frustrated with shoplifting incidents. Pugh’s sentence shows that repeated offences can meet a threshold for a jail term.”

He added: “I would like to pay tribute to our team here in Llanelli, who worked hard to track down and arrest Pugh, before a swift but thorough investigation ensured he was quickly brought before a court. I’d also like to thank the members of staff at Marks and Spencer — they’ve been instrumental in working with us to bolster the store’s defences against retail crime.”

The jailing comes against a backdrop of persistent retail crime problems at Trostre. Earlier this year, police were granted special dispersal powers at Parc Trostre and Parc Pemberton after a surge in antisocial behaviour around major stores and fast-food outlets including Tesco, Morrisons and McDonald’s. Shoppers at the time described frightening scenes, with groups causing disruption inside stores and abuse being hurled at security staff.

A spokesperson said at the time: “We will not tolerate behaviour that impacts businesses, staff or members of the public.”

The issue of abuse directed at retail workers across Llanelli has also been the subject of a major campaign. A Usdaw survey found that 71% of retail staff had experienced verbal abuse in the past year, 48% had been threatened, and 9% had been assaulted — with the Freedom from Fear campaign bringing politicians including Dame Nia Griffith MP and Lee Waters MS to Tesco Trostre to highlight the problem.

Dame Nia Griffith has pointed to the Labour government’s Crime and Policing Bill, which removes the £200 threshold for prosecuting shoplifting and introduces a new standalone offence of assaulting a retail worker. The Bill also gives courts new powers to ban repeat offenders from stores.

The wider context for retail crime in Llanelli is one of deep-rooted deprivation. The Tyisha area — which borders Trostre — was identified as the sixth most deprived neighbourhood in Wales for community safety, and the town has been earmarked for a £20m decade-long regeneration drive targeting crime, empty units and a lack of community facilities.

Anyone who has witnessed or become aware of shoplifting offences is asked to report it to Dyfed Powys Police by calling 101 or reporting online. In an emergency, always call 999.

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

  17. SWANSEA: Meats, milkshakes, sunglasses and cheese — the one-man crime wave that hit 13 city centre shops in a month

A prolific shoplifter who visited the same Co-op nine times in a single month — and hit 13 Swansea city centre shops in four weeks — has been jailed and banned from every Co-op branch in the city.

James Brittain, 46, now of Alexandra Road, Swansea, pleaded guilty to 13 counts of theft from a shop at Swansea Magistrates Court, stealing goods worth almost £700 during a spree in March and April this year.

Brittain targeted Co-op branches on Bryn Road and Walter Road nine times, taking items including meats, ready meals, bottles of alcohol, chocolate and milkshakes. He also stole alcohol and cheese from Tesco on two occasions, bread from a Greggs bakery, and pairs of sunglasses from Vision Express.

The court heard that his long-term drug use had taken a significant toll on his physical and mental health. His advocate described him as someone who had become “institutionalised” to life in prison and who struggles when in the community.

Brittain was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison and will serve 40 per cent of that time in custody before being released on licence. He was also made subject to a criminal behaviour order prohibiting him from entering any Co-op branch in Swansea for the next three years.

South Wales Police say that the order is the sixth secured by its Neighbourhood Policing Team in Swansea for retail crime in the past two years. The application was supported by evidence compiled through close partnership working with local retailers and local authority CCTV.

Officers added that the broader enforcement effort has contributed to a 14% fall in shop thefts in Swansea city centre.

City Neighbourhood Inspector Andrew Hedley said tackling prolific offenders remained a priority. “Securing this sixth Criminal Behaviour Order in two years for retail crime reflects the proactive and evidence-led work of officers who are focused on those causing the greatest harm through repeat offending,” he said.

“Alongside targeted enforcement and highly visible policing, this work has contributed to a 14% reduction in shop thefts in the city centre. We will continue to focus our efforts and maintain our determination to protect local businesses and disrupt persistent retail crime.”

Swansea Business Crime Reduction Manager Steve Gallagher said the order sent a clear message to repeat offenders. “Persistent retail crime has a significant impact on retailers, their staff, and the overall confidence of the city centre, and this action shows that repeat offending is being tackled effectively,” he said.

“Through strong partnership working with South Wales Police, we are seeing meaningful enforcement that helps deter further offences, reduce financial losses, and improve the day-to-day safety of those working and trading in the city.”

Brittain has 30 previous convictions for 114 offences, including nine house burglaries, 22 non-dwelling burglaries, aggravated vehicle taking, and going equipped for burglary. In December 2020 he was sentenced to 32 months in prison for two attempted burglaries in the Sketty area of Swansea.
