“Coles and Woolworths have conducted tests of #FacialRecognition #technology, but it is unclear if either supermarket will be implementing it in stores.
It comes after the #AustraliaFinancialReview reported both Coles and Woolworths had trialled the technology as part of an ongoing effort to combat retail crime.”

If cameras were in the #BoardRoom and key executive offices #CorporateCrime in the two #SuperMarkets would be reduced (Staff underpayments, price collusion with suppliers, brand replacement) 🤪🤣☺️

Ah, the decisions we have to make in this corporatised world we live in.
Today I realised that if I spend more than $100 on a grocery shop - and I almost always do - I can get it delivered for just under $10. I usually use up about an hour of unpaid labour to go shopping, just under $30 at Living Wage. But for a third of that, I can get the corporation that owns the supermarket I shop at to *pay a worker* to select and bag my groceries for me.
