  5. Another YT Short with an analog #visionscience demo - this time it's Akiyoshi Kitaoka's wiggly version of the Footsteps illusion! Lots of fun making the paper-and-tape version of this one look it's best (at least w/ my skill set) on camera. Enjoy! youtube.com/shorts/1af1rnO6gQA

  9. New #visionscience YT short for you! This time I tried making a process video out of a Silhouette Zoetrope project. Waaay more difficult to film than I thought, but I think the finished product isn't too bad. Enjoy! youtube.com/shorts/iLNooOB1E2w

  21. We benchmarked the direct competitor of the EyeLink 1000 Plus: VPixx' TRACKPixx3 eye-tracker. Across 8 tasks (see graph), accuracy was mostly similar, especially at the fixation level. A key difference emerged at the sample level: TRACKPixx3 uses an undocumented internal filter which yields smoother sample data but may affect saccade kinematics and fixation onsets. Check the paper for fine-grained results:

  24. My first research project back in '08 was on the efficiency of cortical networks responsible for processing lighting direction when viewing Lambertian surfaces. It was surprising as an undergraduate how well we can perceive things with eyes that have such low quantum efficiency

  33. 📢 New publication alert! 🚀 Excited to share that our paper, "It’s Not Always the Same Eye That Dominates: Effects of Viewing Angle, Handedness and Eye Movement in 3D," will be presented at CHI 2025! 🎉👀🔄

We show that eye dominance isn’t fixed but varies with task and context—challenging common assumptions in vision science and XR research.
