My freshly-minted 8th-grader found out last night that she hadn't gotten into Honors History as planned, not because she didn't earn her spot or was overlooked, but because #VanWA Public Schools cut it for lack of funding. If there is one subject she is passionate about, it's #History, and we are simply gutted over it.

After 4+ years of living in #VanWA, I can tell I've successfully integrated by how much I really *REALLY* don't want #PDX residents to discover the downtown waterfront area and ruin it.

At the #ClarkCountyFair just north of #VanWA and #PDX. Here's my PSA: If you're going to buy a ride bracelet, spring for the fast pass. Most of these rides empty that line first before letting in the regular line. If they run out of seats, it's your tough luck.

Needed: #PDX area front-end #developer willing to #volunteer time to teach and mentor a high school FIRST Robotics program.

The Tactics & Strategy wing of the Skyview Robotics program has been working on a data collection and reporting tool and could use some professional guidance. The mentor "stack" currently includes Product, UX Design, Data Analysis, and Dev Ops, but nobody to teach front-end coding.

The crew meets Tuesday and *possibly* Thursday nights starting in the fall. We may be able to flex that for you though. Reach out for more info. Thanks!

Thanks to a fairly rough storm in the early AM, I woke up to my neighbors’ Christmas lights flashing (unintentionally). Now everything is dark.

@GottaLaff #vanwa is actually a blue area, but just north of there is Battle Ground, home of multiple Jan 6 defendants and the domestic terrorist group Patriot Prayer. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where you saw that house.
