The challenge to #TeslaTakeDown #Troublemakers is for us to get organized well enough to push really hard on getting the SB 5377 reintroduced, or even to turn the #TeslaTakeDown organizing into a state initiative signature gathering campaign. We can do it. We have to do it to make the campaign a success because #Musk needs to go broke.

A measure to end Tesla's ability to sell to consumers was introduced in Washington state LegislatureSenate Bill 5377, sponsored by Sens. Rebecca Saldaña (D-Seattle) and Mike Chapman (D-Port Angeles), strengthens consumer protections and promotes fair practices among manufacturers, distributors, and local auto dealers. It closes a decades-old loophole that limited consumer choice and created an uneven playing field for manufacturers of clean-fueled vehicles in Washington state.
Unfortunately, legislators didn't have the spine or public backing to get it out of committee, so it died early.

Partly off-topic, one of the things that I love about Discourse is the automated cross-referencing (linking) when quoting from one topic in another. Readers can be aware of the spread of things, with zero fuss.
There can be no cure for the few people who will not tolerate Internet links (to external content, beyond the bubble of The FreeBSD Forums).
That aside: a shift from XenForo to Discourse could, slowly but effectively, cure a fair amount of what's problematic – without admin/moderator intervention. True: the most hostile offenders might, in the early months of a transition, abuse the aspects of Discourse through which moderation is automated.
The optimist in me believes that Discourse is mature enough for such abuse to become apparent, and then easily stamped out. Result:
― a better community, for everyone.
