Greetings from Kampala! Our instance went dark, and no communication from the admin for a couple of weeks, so we are reviving this old account and make a new #introduction
We are a #collective of #filmmakers and #storytellers based in Uganda, and our primary purpose is to help kickstart the careers of artists in this region. We do this through training, production, and socializing/networking.
At Sisi, we believe in collaboration and nurturing voices that might otherwise go unheard. Together, we create short films, poetic visuals, feature films and collaborative art projects.
We’re here to share our stories, #connect with other creatives, and discover your stories too. Let’s connect and keep the stories flowing. We will post using #SisiStories and would like to engage with other #artist #artists #photographer #writers #writer #poet

The so-called #TechBros, which in fact are not better than salesmen of their own phantasy (== #storytellers who do not even understand the complexity of the physics of the #BigBlurb they are telling), are claiming that #AI is the kind of #PerpetuumMobile that Mankind is seeking since centuries and longer. All - Gurus & CEOs from #OpenAI, #Microsoft, #Amazon, #Tesla & #xAI to #Google - claim that AI will solve all #climate problems if the may get 99% of all #energy.

@davoyager I agree those are both problems, but the fundamental flaw, IMHO, is the #truebelievers and their #storytellers that spin lies with only a modicum of truth but convincingly enough to make it sound unambiguous/#blackandwhite. The storytellers stoke fear leading to hate in targeted groups: the basis for #fascism
They can’t tolerate ambiguity or any notion that two opposing arguments can be valid so only believe the conspiracy theories… and there’s no arguing with them
