#StrokeOfScience Prompt ??? - SymbiosisMy final piece for Stroke of Science for this year! I've wanted to paint whale sharks for a while and this prompt was a good opportunity to depict their symbiotic relationship with remora fish 🦈🐟 I have one final piece in the works for this year and then it's a wrap
On that note, Stroke of Science will be returning for 2024 - with some changes to allow for more flexibility
Anyways ramble over enjoy the whales 🌊

This one was a very challenging piece. I struggled with composition and I'm not used to working with greens or bright colours i think. This piece fought back 🥲

Mar 27 - April 9Never had time for a picture this time around. also haven't been able to finish last prompt's piece, might not be able to get to it at all but I'll see. Gonna be a bit quiet on the art front - busy with other things, but hopefully I'll have more time in a month or so!

Yesterday I did some composition #doodles for the second #StrokeOfScience prompt "Death". My idea is to depict storing data in DNA as a way to mitigate "data death" after a TED talk I saw on the topic. This is also fitting for yesterday's #SciFiPrompt DNA!

memento moriDeath plays an integral part in our lives. So much of nature melds around it. There are endless possibilities for this prompt.

I decided to focus on living creatures that are also concerned with the world of the dead: detritivores! Specifically a hungry termite!
Detritivores are organisms that get their nutrients by eating decomposing plant & animal parts. Many plant molecules are slow to break down on their own, but detritivores speed up this process so nutrients can be reused. They're the reason we don't see more plant litter built up in nature!

Fox Coral - #StrokeOfScience Prompt 1 "Living"
Coral reefs have so much life in them, and I really wanted to paint corals for a while now. I picked Fox Corals for this illustration, a very pretty and colourful type of coral.
I may have... taken some *liberties* with the colour and lighting but I cannot live without my glowing colours 😂
