  1. Art in process. On the left page, three tulips drawn from a history of gardens book I came by. I used gouache and colouring pencils. On the right page, another drawing that I made using this book but that is not painted yet. I am never disappointed by flowers, I think they are all beautiful !

  6. After checking on the condition of natural dye inks I made last spring, I thought I would use them to draw acorn woodpeckers. It's been a while since I painted birds, so I did some preliminary poses and some gestures of bird flight (pastel pencil and charcoal).

  7. Back to Nature (9 Photos)

From forests to city walls, these works connect art and nature in unexpected ways. Sculptures woven from willow branches, murals inspired by plants, and playful outdoor installations all invite us to slow down and look closer at the living world around us. More: When Street Art Meets Nature (40 Photos) 1. Stillness in Motion — Olga Ziemska in Poland A human form constructed entirely from gathered branches, its texture dense and its shape dynamic. 8. 1/ O holy laziness! I decided not to go to the museum because rainy 14°C is not so much comfortable for sitting outside. I will enjoy the pleasant coolness in my studio before the heat returns. My excuse: So many #BiodiversityShrines for the exhibition in October are not ready yet. (Look on the hashtag for more). So I'm going to skewer #endangered species (don't worry, it's #PaperArt). #NatureArt #assemblages #artistsOfMastodon #EcoArt #activism #BiodiversityLoss #ClimateAction #FolkArt #kinship

  9. #BiodiversityShrines The #butterfly Colias Palaeno was native in #Alsace in Eastern #France. It is now extinct even in the nature parks of the #Vosges. Since 1980 it vanished in 4 French Departments, which was 33% of its habitat. Its #extinction is humanmade by destroying #wetlands. The butterfly was particularly vulnerable because it depends on a single #bog plant: Vaccinium uliginosum. Micro habitats shall protect them. #Lepidoptera #biodiversityLoss #FibreArts @fibrearts #NatureArt #Activism

  10. I mostly work on 2-3 #BiodiversityShrines at a time. Colias palaeno once was a typical #butterfly of the #Vosges, today it is probably #extinct. Its problem: #wetlands as habitat were destroyed or vanish now by #droughts. The butterfly feeds exclusively on Vaccinium uliginosum, but this plant needs wetlands and colder climate. The #shrine is made from #packaging #waste. #WorkInProgress #NatureArt #BiodiversityLoss #Alsace #reliquary #Reliquien #extinctSpecies #ClimateChange #Colias

  11. There is nothing to do with my circulation today. I want to continue working on my #BiodiversityShrines in the studio. First, I have to go back to #feeling. Feel analogies, see parallels, and play with #associations. My #perspective has to change.

It's also a good way to prepare for the #podcast. The next episode of #NatureMatchCuts will be published at the end of the month. The last episode about our #senses in #nature: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ #artist #science #reconnectWithNature #NatureArt

  12. I was asked yesterday if I would like to exhibit my #BiodiversityShrines in an #art gallery at the Autumn Festival. Now I have to meet the gallery owner (we do not know each other yet) and get a lot of work done. I need more shrines! #LuxuryProblems #PaperArt #TextileArt #mixedmedia #ArtistsOfMastodon #artodon #AtelierTetebrec #NatureArt #BiodiversityLoss
