@redcrew i told the republican booth "i DO NOT appreciate you!" but conversed with them for a few minutes (in a friendly way). one of them asked what the republican party would have to do to get my support and i didn't even know where to start. we found no common ground, none whatsoever. not #SOFUN

@redcrew i wandered the art fair for an hour today, smiled/nodded/greeted so many artists, expressed my admiration, chatted with a few, etc. it was really fun and cheaper than therapy! i bought nothing ... but i woulda!

later i spent an hour on the non-profit block, listening to earnest people pitching deeply held convictions & sharing my beliefs. i love the communists, the workers party, VNP, even the DSA and the Dems! and turned down SO MANY bibles and qurans, but in a friendly way. #SOFUN

Washtenaw County siren test net today. About two dozen radio amateurs each assigned a siren, at noon the test runs, we report back correct or incorrect operations.

In most tests early in the season there are one or two sirens misbehaving or in need of tree trimming.

The test net is coordinated by Washtenaw ARPSC and the county EOC. City of Ann Arbor sirens are tested on a different schedule and without a similar volunteer monitoring system.

Successfully worked the Washtenaw County Michigan siren test net bicycle mobile. I took the Stein Road siren which is adjacent to the Barton Hills County Club. Next time I will go to the same siren as a companion of someone in the club and do the test from the fairway.

Signal reports were "good, strong signal" from my HT.

We took a fast trip to nearby Rosolini to shelf surf the pharmacy (which is #SoFun when abroad, I mean it!) and stumbled upon the Chiesa Madre de San Giuseppe, a mid 19th century church in the Sicilian Baroque style

1 siren needing maintenance (grinding sounds from gearbox)

The net ran about 30 minutes + the 15 minutes each way to get to the siren I was assigned to. Mine was fine (good loud sound, it rotated just fine, no need for maintenance).

The radio fun here in Ann Arbor / Washtenaw County is the ARPSC monthly siren test, I'll be watching and listening for an activation of a siren at noon. My new #Quansheng radios can monitor - not transmit, fortunately - the air band and decode AM.

I was able to pick up ATIS (automated weather) on 134.550 MHz at KARB, the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, from home (if I hold the radio just so). I'm sure it would be better outside.

Call up for the siren test net on #N8DUY 145.15- for the Washtenaw County Michigan emergency warning sirens. Sirens will activate throughout the county (except for the city of Ann Arbor) at noon.

Coincidentally there is also a University of Michigan football game starting at noon, with a planned overflight of some high performance aircraft.
